Would you have a baby during the recession?

I was just thinking with all the talk about the recession how many people would knowingly have a baby. Would you wait until the country were in better standings? I know many people that have either just had or are going to have a baby. I do not think that I would have one right now. I would wait until the economy got alot better.

do you mean intentionally?? Because I truely believe that when a woman gets pregnant it is gods will...yes, you have to have all the right timing and being intimate with your spouse, but there are so many women out there that can not have children, and some who get pregnant without a thought... plus you also have to factor in the age of women now wait longer to have babies, in there 30's and there is a time limit to when you can actually have children, so if you wait til the recession is back into a better economy you may not be able to have any... I had a baby last year and I truely did not believe I was pregnant for the first 3 months, and was shocked to find out I was... and I was not trying, so we were surprised to find out that we were... it wasnt planned, but I wouldnt change a thing.

Yes, of course. Children are blessing from God and they have nothing to do with the present economic situation in the world. Though, having a baby requires sensible financial budgeting, the idea of begetting a child during crisis supposed not to be regarded as "out of timing". Children are wonderful blessings from God that must be welcomed enthusiastically.

You are right that babies are a blessings. I think that if the people can budget then great.

It would depend on how bad your own personal finacial situation was. As far as speculation about the future goes, we are ALWAYS at risk of losing our jobs or investments everyday, no matter what the country may or may not be going through. Life can only be planned to a certain point. Nothing is a certain thing. If we waited till everything was perfect, we would never have children at all!

Okay I see what you are saying. But what if your financial situation was not good? That is what I am thinking of. I am going to be a grandma twice this year and the girls are younger, that is what made me think of this topic.

well I would love to have a baby. My boyfriend and I are trying right now. I do not base my life on the current economy myself. I know some people are like that but I am not one of them. I say if it happens it happens. I try to let life happen instead of having a plan. See this is how I see it, If I make plans things do not always work according to plan. Life is full of ups and downs and I would love to have a child no matter what the state of the economy is in. I think this is a neat dicussion and I hope you get a lot of responses as well. Happy mylotting to you and have a great day on mylot as well.
