We had chili last night. There was some left over, and my hubby made some good soup out of it He added some tomato soup to it with a few other things. It was tasty. What have you made out of left overs?

We sometimes take the leftover chili and just add elbow/shell to make goulash. to which we add a little tomato sauce. I have made soup with left over vegetables before.

Always it is a perfect way to use food up and still make another meal, I love chilli soup and make that one a lot.

I have never made soup from leftovers before. I have thought about doing it but I would have been the only one to eat it.

absolutely - that is the best kind! my mother used to make soup at the end of the week with leftovers, she called it refrigerator soup, heh. during this cold weather I make a lot of soups and often enhance it with leftovers or comprise it mainly of leftovers. at the cost of canned soup going so high I love to make homemade soups, they are easy - forgiving, quick and economical.

As I recall, leftover casserole is a time-honored tradition in many houses. I try to find a use for leftovers in my house, but I'm not always successful. I don't like to waste food, but my family tends to be averse to eating the same thing several days in a row.

We make soups out of left overs also. Usually with chicken and rice. Add some vegetables and broth and have a whole new meal.

Shepherd's Pie is a good way to use leftovers. Just layer meat, veggies, a little broth or gravy if you have it and top with mashed potatoes. Heat until warm.

I like to reuse leftovers and transform them in to another meal sometimes. I will take leftover meat and make it into a casserole sometimes. Leftover Rotisserie chicken is good for making soup or chicken salad. Soups are a good way to stretch a little bit of something.

We had left over corn, fried potatoes and ground beef from tacos left, I threw together a chowder of sorts that turned out really good. Or how about left over mac and cheese, turkey, corn and then some broth. Now you are making me hungry. I will have to go home and whip up some soup for dinner.
