I know it sounds like a gross subject, but we all have to maintain our health.

When my cousin gets constipated her step-mom puts room temp coffee with vanilla creamer in her bottle. I think it's the coffee that helps and the creamer is for flavor but I'm not sure. Kids are a mystery to me. Also high-fiber fruits are good. Bananas, apples...um that's what comes to mind at the moment.

Coffee is great! It relaxes and stimulates at the same time. I think its been unfairly demonized.

Well, I know if you put a little Karo syrup in a babies formula it will help with constipation in babies. I've always just used over the counter laxatives myself.

laxatives are very bad and VERY dangerous especially in children, plus they cause extreme abdominal pain. I would suggest seeing a doctor and ask them what would be best to use. Im an adult and they have sent me to tears with how much pain they cause id not want any baby to go threw that. Im cronicly constipated due to health reasons and have to use daily softner. What I use is mild and soft not not many cramps and works well. I forgot the name but when I remember it I will post it on this thread BUT I do not know if its safe to use with babies so id still ask the doctor about it.

Constipation is something that can happen to all of us. being constipated is not a very fun thing to be. Prune juice is a good quick fix. Also drinking plenty of water and eating a lot of vegetables and fruits and grains n some form will keep the problem at bay. I find that a good drink of warm water first thing in the morning very helpful.

Drinking atleast your 8 glasses of water a day! There are trigger foods that will always make you "go" try incorperating more of those into your diet. For me things like cooked carrots, my home made ck noodle soup (don't ask don't know but it does), beans, apples.... help get me going. Flax seed meal helps alot too especially if you dont' get alot of fiber & Omega 3's in your diet, I just mix it in w/ my spaghetti sauce ect. Be aware though what helps get your body moving may give someone else the "runs", it really makes my hubby go so I can only put it on my food or if I've noticed the kids not going as much as they need to ;)
