Im just starting to learn how to play poker and I can never remember what you call the different hands. What is it called when you get 5 hearts? What is it called when you get two 4's and three 9's? What do you call it when you get 7,8,9,10, and a jack? I have only played poker one time and they had to tell me what to do. I would like to start playing it but I feel stupid because I dont know what im doing. Any advice would be great and much appreciated! Im very determined and I usually catch on to things quickly.

I had a little hard when I first began too but it would be a lot better after practise couple times. When they are in same suit = flush, constant 5 numbers = straight, same suit and constant nos. = royal flush(It always the best hands because iot's not easy to get them), 3 of same nos + a pair = full house, four same nos = four of a kind. Hope it can help you a bit :-)

Here is a list of all the kinds of hands in order of ranking from best to worst with examples of each hand. Suit=spade, hearts, clubs, diamonds Royal Flush: 10,J,Q,K,A. all of the same suit Straight Flush: 5 cards in sequential order of the same suit (3,4,5,6,7 all of the same suit) Four of a Kind: 4 cards of the same number (K,K,K,K) Full House: 3 cards of the same number and 2 cards of the same number. (Q,Q,Q,7,7) Flush: 5 cards of the same suit regardless of number. Flush with the Ace is the best flush you can get. Straight: 5 cards in sequential order. (5,6,7,8,9) Three of a kind: 3 cards of the same number. (Q,Q,Q) Two Pair: Two pairs of cards. (Q,Q,7,7) Pair: two cards of the same number (7,7) High card: No pairs. Ace is the highest card. any pair beats high card, even Ace.

5 of the same auit is a flush. A pair and T of a kind together is a full house, 5 cards in consecutive order is a strait, 5 cards in consecutive order and all the same suit is a strait flush, and if that strait flush ends qith an ace, it is a royal flush.,
