do you tend to over work yourself for money?

I am not a hypocrite and I would agree that I need money for me to buy my needs. But i mean slaving myself to work day and night for money then I don't think I will do such thing. Well given that you don't have a family to support with and you are only working for yourself. I want to enjoy the little things in life and if I work myself too much before I realized it I may not be able to see how beautiful life is and I haven't enjoyed my youth. How about you?

Dear Friend, We loose lot many tiny and beautiful moments in life, in stride to earn money. but if you have lot of problems in life, then you can not enjoy even though good things happen, because your worries haunt you. That was the reason I decide on earning lot of money from monday to saturday. Sunday is all free and I enjoy with my Family and friends, books n fun.

I tend to work in spurts. Early on in the week I grab the assignments that interest me the most and slave away to complete them. It is not uncommon to pull an all-nighter in the process. Come Wednesday afternoon, (yeah, that would be today) I tend to scale back my work load so that I can have some "me" time before the weekend arrives when I spend time with my family. Too much work and no play is not good for us much in the same way that all play and no work won't pay the bills.

We're supporting a family of seven, so it feels like I have to work ALL the time. Luckily, I make my own hours and can take care of the house and family in the midst of a work day. In order to prevent burn-out or over-working myself, I take time out on the weekends to enjoy my family. While I still carry a seven day work-week, this is because I spread things out so I'm not overwhelmed with too much to do in one day. That would tire me more than how I'm doing things now. I'll work half-days (or less) on the weekends so I can have some "you're actually alive and enjoying life" time!!

That is nice to hear that you set time for your family to enjoy. Spending just a few hours with them and for yourself is worth the break than just keep on working and working. Supporting a family for seven is indeed a large family but then they just don't need money they also need your love and affection. Thanks for sharing my friend. Happy Mylotting!!!

I think sometimes I do because when I get off work I spend hours on the computer trying to make pennies so that we can have more. But the last few days I have just said forget it. I will make it without my pennies. I have started skipping my lunch though in order to get 30 minutes OT everyday that equals to two hours a week overtime.

Thanks for sharing. But i don't supposed you don't sleep at night and work at day just to accumulate money right? Having an overtime is okay I mean especially if you have nothing to do. That is extra income but having 4 to 3 hours of sleep in a day just to do several jobs? I mean how can you spend quality time with your family. Just my two cents. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

If there's something I'm dying to buy or when I badly needed money for my family, I could turn days to nights and work round the clock.

I admit, sometimes I tend to over work myself just to earn money. I can't help it. It had always been my dream that once I'd be capable to earn money, I'd see to it that all my effort would be exhausted. I know it's kinda wrong because there has to be a balance in everything.

Well I do find that I sometimes over work myself for money but, this is mostly when there is a shortage of money. I think that dealing with these hard economic times have forced people to over work themselves or work harder. Everyone wants to be happy and you can even spend a brief moment in the thought of happiness if you don't have the space in your cluttered stressful mind.Money doesn't buy happiness but, it certainly helps to get you there !

I would only work for the necesary and what I can get from school. «of course alot of people want material but there should be a limit. Like the friend of my mom, she has arthritis and she still uses physical strenght to work for monney. All of her children has a job and can live on their own. But she still works...I don`t know what for. In that state, she should love and care herself first. I know I won`t work till i get myself ill. When I will die, I want to feel loved and get people around me. When I die, I can`t bring all the materials and monney with me. that`s how i see it

we have the same line of thinking that I can't bring my riches when i die and i won't slave myself just for money unless it is really needed. I want to enjoy life to the fullest and i am a firm believer that it is not only money that will make you happy. what is important is i have my family with me and my friends who love me as much as i love them. thanks for sharing.

Well, for me, I am not over exhaust myself for money. I maybe work hard because I want to be efficient in my job. I want to do my work the best I can, meeting the deadlines because it is a must. This is sometimes the reason that I overworked myself, that is beating the deadline. Well, that was before when I have yet my full time job but now no more. I am relax and manage my own time. But I know of some people here in America? specially the immigrants? they are working very hard for money. Sometimes, 2-3 jobs, there are times that husband and wife can hardly see each other because of work. The other one works at night shift and the other work at day. when the other is asleep, the other is at work. They all do that because of money. They want to cope with the high standard of living neglecting each other. That's pretty sad.

that is a sad story may friend but it happens because other may think that it is money that will make them happy and contented in life. At time we miss out the real essence of life that is to enjoy it with the people around us that we love. I think man will never be contended in life we continually work hard to acquire new stuff that we fail to give importance to the people around us and to enjoy life's little blessings. thanks for the share.

I find the majority of marketplace goods quite unnecessary and most are quite useless in reality. We live in a world of promises to make things easier or better for people and offer to help them do less work via gadgetry for a fee of course. In reality most devices are truly unnecessary and hardly useful and some are even quite absurd. Most people waste a large amount of money on useless or unnecessary items.Ive learned to weed out what is a need and what is a want. This isnt to say you shouldnt give in to some of your wants but who really needs 30 pairs of shoes of a closet full of hundreds upon hundreds of clothes.Do you really need that gadget that chops food instead of using a knife?Do you really need a gadget to peel your hard boiled eggs?Do you really need a 4th TV?The list could go on. People often complain of not having enough money but rather they usually tend to spend it unwisely.I routinely see people who make 30 to 50 k a year call themselves poor due to mismanaging funds. I find that I make enough for my necessities and a few small wants and thats all I really need.Im far healthier and happier and I get to spend far more of my time enjoying life instead of being a slave to someone else's pocketbook.

Hello, ahh, I don't overdo myself to work just for money, I am enjoying myself doing something that I want to do even when it means spending...Haha I am self employed and I have my business but I leave evrything to my assistant to attend and do all the the worries, haha. Ofcourse I am always present at my business place but I don't spend my whole 8 hours there. I am enjoying everybit of my time doing the most i like to do i have pleasure in everything I do.

well, I do overwork,,, SOmetimes, I even get crazy over it.. that I want to finish my job as soonest time as possible.. but doing lots of these put myself into trouble.. sometimes I commit mistakes and I need to redo it. I have a family to support but my husband has his job, too.. I just wanted to give something, you know, contribute some to help my husband... we're experiencing crisis right now, and it's good for me to still have my job, even I am home. :)

Hi! When I was younger, I overworked myself. I wanted to buy so many things for myself and my family, so I would work everyday (even on weekends). Now that I'm 41, I realized that there's more to life than just working. Although I love to work, I don't overwork myself anymore. I try to enjoy the company of other people during my down time and get more rest. I am still single and I'm enjoying it. I don't want to stress too much about work, too, although sometimes it can stress me. What I do is I stop for a while and rest, then try to make myself feel good about life. Happy myLotting!

I'm more likely to over work myself for perfection. I've done it too many times. I have a grasp on the concept that money does not equate to happiness. Now if I could except that perfection is unattainable, I'b be doing well.

I tend to over work but not necessarily slaving myself on work. Sometimes I can't help it. I work online and when I see my computer, I feel like being magnetized by it and always feeling of turning it on. That's why I really make it a point that on weekends, I will resist the temptation of turning my PC on and give quality time to my family.

I think I don't overwork myself for cash, not at all. All I do is to put in at least an hour here in MyLot--even just to add up to the cents I got in here. Apart from that I just save from my allowance, and that's it! I personally want myself to slave over cash for the summer, instead of bummming around here at home at least I can make myself useful in one way or another, right?

Yeah i agree! Sometimes we really do need money for our needs and that's really important in my life. but i can't stand slaving myself for work day and night...it makes me feel i'm not a human at all just a working machine,it's horrible. so i think i'd better enjoy my life as much as possible and just finish my job on time, that's all i want to do as for now.
