Have you ever bought a new book, only to have it confiscated by the younger generation before you have a chance to read it? I have! She's never been interested in my reading material before, then all of a sudden my new book was snatched and disappeared into the Black Abyss. I thought I'd mislaid it, but no. She couldn't read one of my older books, it had to be the brand new one!! Brat!

I haven't had that happen yet, but I don't think our reading interests are the same. My 15yo hasn't even searched the shelves of books I have to find something to read. She is constantly in need of the next book in the series she is reading. I have bought her books that I intend to read but haven't gotten around to it... neither has she. These are books written by a distant family member. And being a writer I like to read different things. But I will not be reading the Clique books or the Twilight series. Our reading interests just aren't the same.

Neither are ours. I've been trying to get her to read some sci-fi, but no way! Then I started reading this Charlaine Harris series. I didn't even mention it to her, but every time I picked up a new one, it disappeared! I finally got wise and just let her keep picking up the series. Silly girl.

My daughter was never much or a reader but she used to make my new clothes disappear and my new make-up ,mind you I turned the tables when she started earning and buying her own then she moved out with her boyfriend now her husband.Mind you it was good while it lasted she had better stuff than me.There was a joke in our house if you can't find something try looking under our daughters bed we did have a laugh and we missed her like crazy when she left home.

That's our joke too. Her dad makes comments all the time about how similar we are. We can't help but glare at him. She'll crawl out of bed, and her top and bottom are the same color as mine. We don't hear the end of that all day. She has a thing for snatching my pens too. I have a LOT, but she always manages to take my favorite one, the one I'm using every hour. I growl at her a lot, she just giggles. Sigh.

I've had my mom take my books. Which is kind of funny since I exclusively read audio now and my mom is an excellent reader so she can read paperbacks. But now she will tolerate an audiobook if it was something she really wanted to read.

Well, we want our kids reading right? Haha No, I don't have that problem yet. My little guy is only 4 yrs old. The problem I have is with him taking my bookmarks out of my book.

Oh, that's bad! I have a lot of bookmarks, but can't seem to find one when I'm trying to, so I just stick a piece of whatever paper is closest. Yeah, I want her reading, but why can't she read what I WANT her to?? lol Kids. They gotta do things their way.
