Do respond to discussions in the activity sortie?

January 29, 2009 7:52am CST
I responded to a couple of discussions from the activity sortie on the main page of Mylot today for the first time, I've never really noticed it much before. It makes sense really as I add friends who I share interests with so the discussions they respond to might suit me too, I'll definitely pay more attention to it from now on.

I used to all the time, but now I find I spend more time responding to discussions in the tabbed off sections across the top of the discussion areas for some reason. Hmmm... I wonder why I changed that?! LOL

The tabs along the top are useful I use then sometimes now too.

I have seen it before just never actually responded to a discussion from it, I usually just go straight to discussions my friends started.

I am like you too...I realize the activity sortie in the main page pretty late as well. Whenever I am in the log in page, I see some cool discussions. Then I would continue to open the ones that I like in new tabs so after I've inserted my id and password, I can continue to answer them. I must say they look enticing enough.

It also shows you interests your friends are adding too which is good as it gives you an idea of where to post to get the most responses.

That is a good tip.. I like that idea too. It's cool sometimes to see the different interests which make me feel like wanting to answer all, except that I'm not here the whole day.. LOL.. Happy mylotting to you .. ;)

i pretty much just answer discussions from my friends because they are emailed to me and i am always too busy to even answer all of those so there isnt any free time to check out the sortie afterwards

I have the email notification on friends starting discussions switched off as it would get ridiculous the amount of friends I have on here, my inbox would be crammed.

my inbox does stay crammed lol.. but with the way the sortie keeps only the recently responded stuff to the front with the amount of friends i have things get buried so fast i would miss out prob on 99% of their discussions since some friends have some that are popular and then some friends never have any that are popular so that is why i stick with the notifies.. even if it drives me nuts

I like to do that as well. It does help add your posts up but I must caution you a little bit about something here. I did this all the time back a few weeks ago and I lost many discussions because I did not keep track of them. For me I have been sticking to my friends and my own discussions but I might try and venture out here a little more. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

I have "discussions I have responded to" as one of the boxes on my sortie, I can't remember if it always there or if I put it there but it's good for keeping track of what you've responded to.

Hi nancy! I ususally go to the option..friends started and if there are friends I haven't heard from I go to their profile page and see if they've started anything. Then I just browse around and see what discussions I can input on. My friends keep me pretty busy with their posts.lol.

I browse around a lot looking for discussions too, I always start with discussions my friends started then browse the most recently active intesests.

To be honest I just solely rely on my notifications I receive regularly from all my friends as to the discusisons I respond to, I don't take much notice in the sorties, I am kept busy with notifications and that is the best feature on Mylot. But I do hear what you are saying the activity sortie can be an asset as well.

That's a good idea, I need to remind myself to do that. Usually I do the same thing I always do, which it going to discussions that friends started. The problem with this is that it's always the same discussions day after day, they I see discussions I've already responded to (or have decided I don't have anything to add to them). I do sometimes search using the search box for discussions on particular topics, such as blogging, writing, etc.

I like to browse the interests as well as you find new people to add to your friends list all the time so there's always fresh discussions in the friends started tab.

I am not familiar with activity sortie. My way of replying is when I received an email from Mylot that my friend started a discussion. I don't miss any of my friends discussion because of that, I can see sometimes about the activity sortie, is there where the top discussion are placed?

It's the column on the left hand side of the home page (unless you've moved it as we can customise the home page) it says things like your friends have just uploaded photo's or responded to a discussion or started a discussion etc.

Sometimes I check out peoples activity sortie if I haven't come across any of their discussions for a while. (For some reason, even if I have the "notify" option checked for them, I don't always get notified.) And sometimes I check out the "no responses".

Yes there are often good discussions in the no responses section that have just been knocked down the interest page because it's busy.
