Quantum leap is playing on one of our local channels as reruns. I love to watch it and watch Sam. I loved him as a woman. Where his friend al got turned on by him lol. That was funny. I still don't understand the reason behind him leaping. If anyone can explain that to me, i would appreciate it!! Also tell me which episode you liked and why.

This was one of my favorite shows when it was originally airing on tv. We have some of the series now on DVD. Sam was trying to creat a time machine of sorts and it ended up getting him trapped in time. Now he get zapped from different moments in his lifespan(not his own life except for a couple rare occasions) to correct things that have gone astray. He has a certain time frame to get things fixed and as soon as he does he leaps to somewhere else. Al helps him out to try and figure out what he's supposed to fix. All I have to say is, "Oh, boy."

It's the catch to him being able to leap in time again. Once things are set right he goes on another leap. He has no control over where it sends him though. So while his team of scientists are working trying to figure out how to get him back, he keeps hoping that one of his leaps will bring him back to his present day on accident.

I used to watch that movie ages ago...I think he was a wonderful actor. It was great the way that he could take on any role and make you believe it...not alot of actors can do that...at least not 5 nights a week. I can't recall a specific episode that stands out just that I really liked the show and I'll have to see if I can find it online to watch. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD**

I loved Quantum Leap! I think they still show reruns here, but can't seem to catch a show nowadays. I believe the reason for Sam's leaping was so that he could fix things that had gone wrong and make them right. Once it is fixed he leaps again, each time hoping the next leap he takes will be the one home (to his own time). I don't really have a favorite episode as they were all pretty good!

I loved quantum leap and actually a few months ago I was watching the old episodes on one or our cable channels... I havent seen it recently so I dont know if they are still airing it..but that was a great show.... I loved Scott Bakula ... and Ziggy... LOL, loved ziggy!! My fav episode was when he was himself as a boy, but there was also that episode where he was a traveling saleman and promised everyone in this one town that it would rain...and by the end of the episode it did... I wish they had more shows like that on now....LOL

Hi Princess, Wow, Quantum Leap, what a blast from the past, would you laugh at me if I told you I had the t-shirt of Quantum leap, with the 'credits' on the back 'Theorizing that one could time travel.... etc. etc... What Price Gloria was my favourite episode when Sam leaped into the body a woman, fantastic, and the bit at the end when Sam gets revenge on her or his boss is brilliant, shere brilliance. Ziggy was that machine that Al carried around, he was very comical, Dean Stockwell and Scott Bakula (who went on to star in Star Trek!) see a mind of useless trivia me!

We used to watch Quantum Leap. It was a good show and we never found out whether Sam was an angel or not. But it was amazing that he could look in the mirror and see himself as Sam, but everyone else saw him as the character he was playing. It was a precursor of shows such as Seven Days, where by someone enacting, they could change the situation. Oh the bummer of it was that they sort of forget what it was like before they changed it. Oh the leaping is he is trying to change the outcome of a situation. And it is good explanation of why someone acts different then before for those who do not believe that God can change hearts. I did not have a favorite episode, but it was not the one when he changed into a woman. I remember one when he was a baseball hero.

I remember that show. Wow. I would love to see it again. My understanding of the show was: Sam was a time traveler. His job was to fix things in time so as to preserve the present time line. This allowed him to get into some unusual situations. I do not remember any particular episodes. It has really been a long time since I have seen any of the shows.

But if he fixed things wouldnt that change his future or his present.

Most of the time they were't people and situations that were direstly linked to him or anyone he knew. If he didn't get things fixed, he would be trapped in that time.

OH I remember quantum leap. I used to enjoy watching it, but I can't remember what the reason was either. HOnestly I can't remember any specific episode that I liked, it was always about him helping someone and if he was successful he would leap. But it was quite a long time ago, Ihaven't seen quantum leap in years, so I really don't remember that well:)

I do remember Quantum Leap. I really enjoyed that show. I wish it was still on I love shows like that. I can't really remember any specific episodes as it has been a long time. I just remember liking the shows. I think by leaping he helped the people who he leaped in to and those around them and learned valuable lessons himself.

I remember Quantum Leap. As a matter of fact, I even own seasons one and three on DVD. I never got the chance to finish buying the series on DVD though, unfortunately. Sooner or later I'll get around to buying them on eBay. But I love the show. Which I always find funny because I remember I didn't like the show when I was a kid. Back when new episodes came on, whenever I saw the opening credits on USA (the channel it came on where I lived), I would quickly change the channel. But now it's one of my top three favorite shows. As for why he was leaping around, in the first episode he stepped into the Chamber before things were more ready because there were issues with it being threatened with getting shut down due to lack of evidence it would work or something along those lines. At first Sam didn't really understand why he kept leaping to different people instead of leaping back to his own time. In the end, Sam finds out that he actually could have gone home from day one but didn't because he had a strong desire to help people. The whole time it was Sam himself controlling his leaping. At least that's what I recall from the final episode. I guess you can say that it was that reason (wanting to help people) that he kept leaping when he put right what once went wrong.

I loved the show "Quantum leap". I tried to see every episode. Sam was a quantum physicist experimenting with time travel that went south. His pal Al was a hologram that could only give Sam moral support. The one I remember best Was Sam as a pregnant woman. I don't remember what he was supposed to do. I see it comes on on NBC on Friday night at 12:00 so I will be staying up to see if it does come on again.

I enjoyed watching Quantum Leap when it was on the air. And occasionally I manage to catch it on Sci Fi channel. I don't remember exactly why he got stuck jumping during the initial experiment. I do remember he had memory gaps, and couldn't really remember what his life was like back home, so that made it a little sad at times. Overall, it was a really good series.

Hi Mssnow, I loved this show, I loved to see the character of Sam in the mirror when he arrives at a new place, was sometimes hard to get my head around it when he ended up in a womans body!! Well I was young, and like Baldrick in "Blackadder" when they all swopped clothes I was very confused. I have seen the guy who plays Ziggy in loads of TV shows and films since and everytime he turns up in something my partner and I reminisce over Quantam Leap. Mad how a show imprints on your life without you even knowing eh? Great topic Mssnow.
