Hello mylotters!! I am a mother to a beautiful 9 (soon to be) month baby boy!! His first bday is in May. I am trying to think of what I can do for his first bday. What to serve? Things to do, ect... I wanted to do a monkey theme since he acts like a monkey I do know I want to make him a small cake for himself to get everywhere and then have a nice cake for everyone else to eat but that's all I have right now. I have no idea what kind of actitivies to do. I think I'm thinking into this way too hard! So please if you have any good ideas please share!! Happy mylotting!!

Alrighty girl... Get a little small cake for him which you already said u would do.. then get a regular small cake for everyone else so george has his own he can demolish because you know he's a boy and he will destroy that cake! as far as decorations i think there is a party store in waldorf that you could go to if not ill look online for monkey party decorations and send you the link so you can look at it. as far as food it depends on what time of the day your going to have it. if your going to have it around noon then have some litle finger sandwhiches and chips and soda thats all you need. if its gonna be in the afternoon kinda around dinner or something.. fire up the grill if not borrow one lol cook up some hotdogs cause them suckers are cheap and get some baked beans and some chips and soda lol there you go. see if anyone wants to bring anything like potatoe salad or something or whatever. there isnt much you can do at a 1st birthday so id make it something small and basic nothing fancy.. atleast not till he is a little bigger sierra 1st birthday is gonna be at the park.. no thing big just probably the same thing i just told you lol

ok thanks girl!! I think we are going to have alittle together at Suzanne's house and then I want to do something here on his bday. When I do it here I'm sure I'm going to have the webcam on so my dad and Julie can watch him. They want to be here so bad for his 1st birthday!! I know my sister was saying she was going to have her husband make a monkey cake which would be great!! I can't wait to see it! He is a great artist! Don't worry I'll take a bunch of pictures for you! =) I can't believe that our babies are going to be a year old soon!! It's crazy!! I hope George will have some more teeth by then so he can eat some real food! For decorations I'm not going to go all out...well...maybe since he is my first But I really want to get monkey plates, napkins, and cups.... then just at least 2 monkey balloon's and the others can just be different colors. I should just start buying some now so I will have it and not have so much to get then, you know it's only like 3 months away!! Thanks again and happy mylotting!!

Yes....I already know I'm going to have a small cake for him and a small get together...I was trying to get some ideas of decorations and what games we can all play that is age apropriate for a 1 year old. I know I want to have a monkey theme so I was also thinking about making monkey bread but what else is there to do as for food that is healthy? He is a boy so Im not going to put a dress on him. I will have a nice outfit on him, hopefully it will have a monkey on it!! Thanks for responding!! Happy mylotting!!

Hi! First birthday parties are always so much fun but they really are for the parents mostly, and all the memories that come a long with it! I would say something simple - only a few hours, a cake and then a special small cake just for him - that way he can dig into it and you can get your pictures! Pick a theme and maybe make him a personalized shirt and any other kids in your family! I do custom invitations for really great prices so feel free to check out my site! www.creativeinspirations4u.webs.com. I actually have 2 great monkey invitations as well! It all depends if you are inviting lots of children or not! But this is sure to be a great event!
