Have you ever received overtime payment by your employer ?

hi guys, I'm working in China and now is the time of Spring Festival, which is the biggest festival all year round in my culture. Even though it is regulated by the law that employers should be paid twice or threefold on lawful vacations, I have never been treated like that, so do my coworkers. Are things the same or different in your place ?

Here in the United States it is law that if you work more than 40 hours per week that your employer pay you 1.5 times your normal pay, and if you work more than 50 hours per week you get paid 2 times your normal pay. And most places on holidays will pay 2.5 times the normal pay. No one likes to have to work on holidays but for pay like that I used to find myself volunteering to work those days. Now I work from home freelance for myself, and I work as many hours as I want there is not hourly rate. i miss that sometimes.

were do you live in the US? I have never heard of employers having to pay you 2 times your normal pay for over 50 hours. If that's the case they owe me a lot of money. A lot of weeks I have worked way over 50 hours and just made time and a half.

yep, that's why your government insists that China have no human right. Laws that are beneficial to the people never work in reality.

In my country, it happens too. I used to be employed and yes, I was not paid overtime pay. Today, being an employer, I make it a point to pay in fairness to the additional time and service my employees work for. I reward performances for which I know they just had given me the favor of working in my behalf. JNY
