A fruit, a dip, and oh that's all of a title I can think of.

I was thinking about chips and dip. How I found low fat Lays potato chips and I wanted some dip so I could watch the SuperBowl and enjoy some nice chips and dip tomorrow. I don't eat that too often because I like it too much. Then I noticed the fruit icon in my interests. I started to think of dips for fruit. Peanut butter for apples, chocolate for strawberries, and have you ever rolled a banana in Light Jello? The mix to make jello which I prefer the orange to roll a banana in. Any ideas for dips of the potato or fruit variety? Or perhaps you'd like to talk about any dipsticks in your own life. Besides the one in your car...

Such a fascinating discussion you've started here. I especially love the chocolate with the strawberries, but I'm more of a preserve guy myself. Mind you we just finished fasting from meats, sugar products and cheese, so that may seem a bit weird when I type this, but it made perfect sense to me. We had some whole grain bread, and my wife had just brought home some blueberry preserves from the grocery store. Blueberry happens to be my one of my favorite flavors, next to grape. So toasted the bread and then put the blueberry preserves on the bread and then ate it. Boy of boy was I end for a surprising treat. It tasted just like a blueberry pound cake. I told my wife, and she just laughed at me. I know if sounds far fetched, but I promise you it was great.

And just think of all of those wonderful anti-oxidants you just consumed! Blue berries share the #1 spot with Acai, as anti-oxidants..and fibre, too! I, too started the "raw" diet...but only lasted 9 days! Cheers!

Yeah our 25 day fast was great while it lasted. I am happy however to be able to eat the things that I want to again. Although, I'm not in any hurry. For instance that morning coffee I used to have every day. I haven't had it yet. I'm thinking that I will probably keep the coffee that we do have in the freezer on hand for guests or family that comes to visit.

You reminded of my favorite snack when i was still working abroad... breaded mushroom dipped in horseraddish dressing... I did not like it at first... because of the smell of horseraddish... but after trying it for a few times... it kinda grew on me... and now i am craving for one... but such a snack is not available here in my country...

I was thinking that tzatziki sauce, made with plain yogurt, diced cucumbers and seasonings might be a good dip for chips, or veggies. For fruit, I'd like to try a sauce made out of raspberries, maybe even kept warm in a small crock pot.

I really don't like anything that is too healthy so I don't dip fruits or veggies! LOL....really I don't. Chips I don't eat alot of either....hmmmmm must be something wrong with me. If I do dip a chip I like it in ranch dressing or ketchup...and I don't have enough space to talk about all the dipsticks that surround me! LOL..just kidding!

hello ambiepam i like tortilla chips and salsa myself. the salsa is lots less fattening than like onion dip or cheese dip is. i have never heard of anybody rolling a banana in orange jello thou, i do have to admit that that does sound pretty good thou. i might try that sometime. i also like the caramel apple dip that is available in the grocery stores as well. take care and have a beautiful evening and don't eat too much dip! lol

I'm personally a big fan of the carrot and ranch dip combination. Ranch usually does the trick for a lot of vegetables.

I made a fruit dip that everyone loved.. I took 1-8ounce cup low fat vanilla flavor yogurt and mixed it with 1/2-1 cup(depending on your own taste) of lowfat Cool Whip and we used it to dip strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe, pineapple and other fruits in. for chip dips we just get a 16 ounce tub of sour cream and then add to it a Hidden Valley Ranch dressing or Dip mix. Seems to be a favorite with everyone. And it is also a vegetable dip for broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and celery, cucumbers.

I love chips and dips....like you, too much! Thus, I try to stay away from it. I love Pink Lady Apples with peanut butter. Never dipped a banana in jello. I don't use regular jello because of the coloring. The health stores have it without but I have not been to the health store lately. After you dip the banana in the jello what do you do next?

I pour some of the powdered jello on a plate, and then roll the banana around in it. Then I eat it. My mom and I sometimes do that when we split a banana. It's a way for us to get some fruit, but liven it up a bit. And we use the sugar free. It's actually the way she got my sister and I to eat bananas when we were kids.

My favourite dip, for fruit of any kind...is plain low-fat yogurt, a touch of honey and a few sprinkles of cinnamon! I find it great for a fruit, and keep a container of it made up, in the fridge...as I like to have fresh fruit salad (seasonal fruits) for supper, at least twice a week!! My favourite veggie dip is "tahziki"...low-fat sour cream, grated cukes, minced garlic and a dab of Worchestershire and Tabasco! I rarely eat chips...but will eat Nacho's with home made Salsa! Picky eater...aren't I...? I just find, I taste chemicals and preservatives in any pdsed. pre-made dips, etc! Guess your Super Bowl is already on....our's here on the West Coast doesn't start til 3 P.M. Go..Cards...Go!LOL!

thank you kindly, ambiepam...I really needed that today...it's been a long, long one, and my hip (the one I broke just before Xmas) isn't liking these long days! My truck broke down in the snow storm we got yesterday...yikes, oh well, home now & fire is going! I don't know if I will get any with this...but the yogurt on special occassions is also good, with a LIQ*ER like Kahl^a or something comparable! And do you know what else is great....Coconut Cream...a tin of Coconut cream, NOT milk will whip just like whipping cream...and it is yummy on all sorts of things, fruits, cakes ..pies, etc. And you can always keep a can on hand! Cheers...and thanks again!

I seem to have a hard time finding decent looking fruit. No good fruit, nothing to dip! : )

For the fruit you can do a cream cheese and marshmalow fluff dip. If it actually pretty good. You use a block of cream cheese for every jar of fluff. A guy I used to work with had his wife make it once for a work thing. She used flavored cream cheese. It was strawberry.

I love dips. Passionfruit is a great one for fruit and avacado for veggies! My fave is the turkish beetroot dip, which is odd becuase I normally can't stand beetroot.

A fruit dip I really like is sour cream mixed with brown sugar. It's yummy! Oh and I just tried a new one the other day for fruits. It was delicious, I think it even beats the sour cream and brown sugar one!! I don't know what it is called, but I do know that it was pink

Yummy, I like quite a lot of those :) But I never rolled a banana in jello, that one is news to me :) I am not sure if I like the idea of dipping potatoes in any fruit dip, but of course I would have to try it to know for sure. As a rule I like the chips with something salty, not sweet.
