Is youtube a place for kids?

how many of you use youtube or let your kids on there? Yesterday I went on the site to check out some videos and was surprised to see all the cussing and racist types of people that is on this site. The videos are good but I think people need to stop and think about what they write,no matter what site their in.

There are a lot of things on that site, and I'm not surprised when I see things that really shouldn't be on the site at all. So, yes I'd say it isn't a site for children.

I'm sure glad that I went on there because my grandaughter came for christmas and stayed on it all day. I had never been on it before so I didn't think anything about it at the time. I bet you she won't get on it the next time she comes.

I wish that sites like that would clean up their stuff, the site actually does have a 18 mature content thing now that I think about it, you have to be a member to get the stuff 18 plus.

Yes I agree that Youtube is not advisable for kids especially when they are unsupervise or they do not have an adult gaurdian to assist them on the site. Well in the first place the site is open to the public, so anyone is allowed to post videos or comments there and the screening procedure from the admin is not that tight and strict that is why the site is also full of ideas and videos that are only suitable for adult and harmful to minors. Me and my sis actually use the site every night cause it is where we find some videos and movies my 2 year old nephew enjoys, so we allowed him to watch cartoons and funny videos when my sister and I are present to accompany him. Its a very interesting site but if we are talking about children as a consumer of the site we need extra precautions to consider. ^-^
