Some of those things listed are good things but not for a stimulus bill. One that really stands out is I as a military wife with friends in the military really need those childcare services at more bases, but it doesn't belong in this bill that is called a Stimulus bill. As for the NASA scientists who make a good deal of money already and that 400 million will not provide employment opportunities that definetly doesn't belong in this or any bill any time soon. The upgrade to low-income housing well I think that people need an income first for those houses, so not right now. Repairing hazardous roads good but it only puts a certain field to work and once it's done it done. Renovating federal buildings again the same story. I haven't heard of any bomb problem at airports lately but sounds like a good idea but for right now why not just pay people to work more security positions at these airports that may be at risk? None of what you listed will help me any. Only that little bit that they have said is in tax cuts will help me in my situation. I think you left out the Honey Bee thing... Or is that now out?

Every working family needs affordable childcare - or better yet, a program that would pay one parent to stay home to take care of the children!

That is true but a stimulus bill really needs to be what is needed to go directly to the heart of the economy and job creation. You don't need help with childcare if you don't have a job. I believe really that the problems with childcare and child heathcare should be more addressed on a state level also. But for now we need to concentrate on the big problem at hand. I hate how they just group everything together. There should be a limit on the size of one bill so that we aren't wasting money in projects that got funded because the bill it road on was 90% good stuff even know very few would have voted for that 10% if it was on it's own.

Well at least they have an idea of where the money could begin to go. I guess the real question is whose friends will be getting those contracts and the real stimulus.

My understanding is that in addition to the money going to projects that won't stimulate the economy, much of it will go to federal and state agencies who will then decide who gets the money, and who aren't set up to be able to accept applications or to distribute the money - and won't be for a couple of years!
