hey have updated the list of peanut butter recalls. Here is a list so far, please follow the link to the list. http://www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/salmonellatyph.html#recalls, have you quit eating things with peanut butter due to the scare? We have a little, but alot of it you don't even think about. Heck it is even in dog biscuits!

I checked my dogs' biscuits to be sure they're safe and they are. I've heard that the peanut factory is under federal investigation for shipping products they knew had salmonella--Canada rejected a shipment, even. It was destroyed. I hope the people responsible are tried for murder, assault and battery plus negligence and endangerment.

They are still expecting the list to get bigger. It is hard to believe.

Yes, that list is extensive! I've avoided buying anything containing peanut butter for now. I only buy peanut butter in jars. My dogs' favorite treat is a peanut butter thing shaped like tiny little paws. I can't remember the name, offhand, but they were running low on them and there was no way I was going to buy more until this scare is over! So, I baked my own peanut butter dog treats. I cut some of them into tiny little squares and, once I got tired of cutting, I started rolling the dough into tiny balls and squashing them flat with my fingers, then baking them. My dogs ADORE them! I doubt they'll want to go back to the store-bought kind now. But that's fine with me because a box of these treats costs almost $4.00 while I made twice as many for only around $.50! So, at least one good thing has come out of this recall... I'm saving money!

hi thoroughrob...i've heard about it and it made me think twice before i ate some peanuts hehe. but i had these peanuts before the news came out and they didn't make me or my sister sick so i judged them safe. but the peanut butter thing, i was planning to buy some but i think i can wait. not all peanut butter is tainted but i can live without. be careful what you eat, drink, and meds packages. be safe and enjoy life.

Thanks for the link, Thoroughrob. Just checked my peanut butter, and it's made in New Mexico, not on the list.

It is amazing how so much healthy food is being recalled. I do not mean the product that it is in, like candies, but the actually peanut butter. Remember when Roma Tomatoes were being recalled? There seems to be a pattern here. I have no yet heard of anyone recalling corn syrup or margarine, it is food that is good for you. Something is going on here. Maybe someone is deliberately contaminating good food to force you to go back to eating junk or stuff made entirely by chemistry.

I heard on the news today that they recalled peanut butter that was sent to local schools in 2007. Well it has been eaten and so far no one has gotten sick from that. The peanut butter was donated to area schools to cook with. What a horrible thing for this company to do. Because of their greed and lack of cleanliness they have killed 8 people.
