Friend's List

Do you ever take the time to go through your friends' list to se who is still active or who has been gone for some time? I recently went through mine and found several friends that have not been active for up to 8 months. Most of thesI have deleted. I was surprised to see there were so many that have not been active for so long. So how do you know if someone is no longer active?

I do that every now and then. I delete those that are doing nothing, I don't need big numbers in my friends list, it makes it harder when you ae looking for someone. Some people you never see, I will delete them too. There are some people that I won't delete even if they haven't been here in awhile, they might be back. You can check on the persons profile, scroll down, it says how long they have been a member and the last time they logged in. That info should be on the left at the bottom.

Hehe, a pitcher of Margaritas does sound good doesn't it. We could use your Mr. Kool Aid pitcher, I don't think he would mind, specially if we shared.

Hi Polly, I agree with you. A shorter list makes it easier if you are looking for someone specific. Can I possibly get in on the Margaritas too? I do enjoy a good Margarita now and then, and it sure sounds good right now. LOL

well, if they have very low numbers and are early in my friend's list, they probably aren't active

I do have some friends who came back after being gone for quite a while, so if I really liked them, I leave them on in hopes they will come back

Hi ElicBxn, That's a good point! Some of the ones I deleted were in fact in the first ones when I joined and their numbers were very low and had been inactive for about a year. I didn't see a point in keeping them around.

Yes, I've gone through it recently. And there are about ten people on my list who have not been active in around the same time as what you said, 8 months. But two of them have or had cancer, and just in case they come back, I want to keep them on my list so I know how they are doing. I am trying to think positively about why they aren't on mylot anymore. And some of the other mylotters who aren't active are just ones I really like, and kinda hope they come back someday. But I do every once in a while go through and delete those who haven't been active in a while. No need to keep them on the list if they have been gone so long and I don't have a relationship with them either.

Hi AmbiePam, You have a good way of looking at your friends' list. Mosst of the time when someone goes missing, I have no idea what happened to them. I don't really know anyone too well. I just like some of their discussions or poems, sayings, whatever. It makes me sad when they just are no longer here.

I go through mine off and on but with so many ppl getting banned recently I thought I should go through them again but I'm not sure if some of them aren't getting their accounts back. It's pretty messed up right now. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Hi Twoey, I don't see the harm in going through your list, but like you, if I knew someone got banned and might come back with the same account, I probably would not delete them, just yet. Give them time to get things settled first. Good point.

I have, though I haven't done so in a while. But I haven never deleted anyone due to inactivity. I've seen old friends pop up after being gone for months. I think it's safe to say that if their profile is no longer up (a blank white page) that they are gone. And if they aren't gone they have closed that account and have a new identity on here.

Hi sacmom, Well said!! A blank white page is a good indication that the account is closed.

I really don't clean yup or delete my friends list. You will never know if they come back again. Who knows that they will be active once again. So I just wait, if ever they are not active, when they comeback and started posting again, then it would be great.

Hi, well i dont bother going through my list and deleting.. that would take too long. i can understand people not being active because some find it hard to earn here and dont have the time.

First of all let me apologize for taking so long to respond to this discussion that I started a month ago. I've been away from here due to a lot of things happenning in my life. My mother got real sick and passed away. She lived in Louisiana. I returned home and got sick myself, then my husband got sick. I think things are calming down now. Thanks for listening. OK, I agree with you that some people do find it hard to earn on here. It is a very slow process. But, people that you know have been banned are not coming back under the same ID, so why not clear them out?
