They say a way to help us lose weight is to drink more water, to stay hydrated, drink more water and you will be less hungry. It flushes out our system and then helps us lose or maintain our weight more properly that way... but realistically it is water, very boring, and in the winter even harder to drink just a glass of water... do you get your 8 glass in a day?

Hi bookreadermom, Water does help in losing weight. In the beginning you may find it difficult to drink. If you practice ,you will find it easy. If you can't take cold water, take warm water. If you find no taste, you can add little lemon juice in it. Moreover you don't have to drink eight glass of water at a stretch. You can have immediately after getting up,two glasses of water. Then for the remaining quota of water, you can have, in between lunch,at lunch time,at evening snacks time and dinner time. You don't have to force yourself.you can have intermittently as much as you like. To develop this habit you can keep two bottles of water in your work table so that you can sip water whenever you like to have. Water is important to your body to avoid dehydration. Water flushes out toxins from your body which is necessary for the proper function of the body. You will not have constipation, dry skin etc.. How does water helps in your weight loss ? 1.We, many times misunderstand the feeling of thirst to hunger. So if you feel hungry first have a glass of water and wait for sometime to see if your hunger has gone away. Also drinking water gives a sense of being full and you will find yourself eating less as a result. 2.The liver in the body burns the stored fat into energy. The liver functions well when we drink more water. So more water means, liver burns more fat so you lose weight. 3.When the body gets regular flow of water,it releases the stored water from the body,so you will lose initially the water weight. By all means you stand to benefit if you drink eight glasses of water daily. Of course you should not drink more water also.If you take more water, some important minerals from your body may be washed out. Happy mylotting.

Hi Insufficient water can be one of the reasons for dry skin. So for a healthy and youthful skin, start drinking water. To overcome dry skin you should use mild soaps and detergents. You may use Vitamin E tablets and fish oil as supplements. Don't forget to eat more fruits and vegetables which will nourish your skin well. Happy mylotting

well i never knew that water is just for losing weight. water is good for everything. its good coz it keeps u healthy, removes all unwanted bacteria or anything inside the body..it is good to keep u away from a lot of diseases. u wont get any infections , constipation or anything like tht if u drink lotsa water. there is so much in tht. well i dont thnk u shud drink it as water alone. u can always have it in the form of juices. orange juice is good and an alternte. i did get some infection as i never drank water. after tht i started drinking and i feel it really helps.

Nooo!! I don't want to hear it!! LOL. I am trying to put on weight. But where I am it has been advisable to drink lots of water because it is hot, hot, hot. Any way, water is good regardless. Especially on really hot days. The body does not have to really work hard to process the water.

Hi bookreadermom I find it difficult to drink6 glasses of water everyday leave alone 8! Sometimes I feel very thirsty and would drink 2-3 small glasses but then that's seldom. Its important that we intake lots of fluid under normal physiological condition as it washes our system as you have said. Having said this, only recently I heard that we must provide our body with the amount it requires and not just force it with water that might not help. All new things are coming up.

I drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. i drink it at room temperature, i don't like it cold. I like to get spring water, from the local spring when ever i can i like the taste better. I also add lemon or lime to it every now and then just for the variety.
