My son is five years old and he is just like Linus from the Peanuts gang. He has a purple blanket that he likes to take with him a lot of places in the house. Or he just likes to lay with it. Do you have a child that does that often?

My son has several blankets that he likes. His great grandmother made him 3 little satin-edged baby blankets after he was born and he used to run around with all 3 of them. Sometimes I still catch him holding one of them while he is sitting. Sometimes he will want to bring one in the car with him. He just turned 5, but I still allow it. I don't see a reason to take them away from him. I call him the blanket hog because he is always piling all of his blankets that he owns on his bed and likes to sleep with them all over the bed. He has been like this since he was a baby. He just loves blankets. The only place I draw the line is taking a blanket to school because then I know kids would just make fun of him.

My seven year old still has a Winnie the Pooh blanket, and I have no problem with her enjoying it til it wears out. I had a little pillow that I kept until I was 10 or so, and I turned out OK, (at least I think I did!). Your child is using this blanket for safety and security, and can't we all use some of that right now in this crazy world?

That's so sweet of him! I can visualise him carrying that on his wee shoulder... Hugs to him.
