Are the people in Washington that are doing all the talking, including Obama, as stupid as they sound? Or... Are these people totally convinced that we the American people are dirt stupid. Are these people thinking they are actually that much smarter than we are?? I have been in the Hospital for the past 15 days and had nothing to do but watch Fox and CNN News. Maybe I watch things closer than some but a lot of what I an seeing and hearing just does not stack up. One thing I am already seeing that concerns me is the fact this bunch of old pros in Washington are going to twist Obama around untill he won't know which end is up. Look at all the junk they added to this bill they are trying to pass now. Obama promiced us he wouldn't allow them to do this. At this point there is only one thing I know for absolutely certain, The American People are being treated like little children and being flat a**ed lied to. This makes me mad. Art

I feel the same way. All I see is the whole thing going down the tube and no one doing anything to stop it. I am just about to believe we have nothing but a group of educated idiots in Washington that ate trotally confused and have no idea what is happening. That is exactly the impression I am getting from tne news media. Thanks for your reply. Art

I guess the best thing for us to do is quit watching the new channels.. We are being lied to and manipulated into believing there is going to be help out of this mess.. It is Greed gone wild.. I don't believe the banks should get another penny from the taxpayers.. I think that if the executives of Wall Street were made to undo the wrong they have done and be made to give back the money that they stole, by way of "packages" they voted for themselves, they might stand a chance of making it on their own.. The government is giving more money to more thieves, do they think it will not be taken by the greedy executives one more time.. Remember the old saying, "Fool me once, shame on you", well, if they are given more money, they are fooling us one more time.. Lay a million, a billion dollars in front of a bunch of thieves and see how many seconds it takes them to get it, well the same goes for Wall Street and the banks, there are too many thieves in government and the banking industry to allow then access to these huge amounts of money, they will take it and either go on a junket, have an over-the-top conference or vote raises for themselves.. There is no intelligence in Washington nor is there morals, values or anything that resembles old time values, there is only greed.. The almighty dollar is what fuels them and it is almost a game now to see who can get out with the most money.. After so much of watching this on the news, I can only think that one day, they will pay, you can fool the government and most of the officials, but you will answer to God, and when that day comes, there will be no excuses..

"this bunch of old pros in Washington are going to twist Obama around untill he won't know which end is up. Look at all the junk they added to this bill they are trying to pass now. Obama promiced us he wouldn't allow them to do this." You're absolutely right. I think Obama is learning very quickly that the president isn't nearly as powerful as he thought. He can't line item veto. He can't even force his own party to do as he requests. He wanted $350 billion in tax cuts and Pelosi gave him $250, while claiming it was a "gift to the republicans". The only real power he has is to veto the bill which he himself sponsored. I'm sure during the campaign you saw how McCain was reamed for opposing a bill he proposed. Nobody wanted to listen to his excuse that democrats added "poison pills" to it that forced him to oppose it. So he'll have to decide to either veto his own bill or sign a bill that he knows is crap. It's only been a few weeks and I think he's already learning that congress had much more power over, and responsibility for, our financial problems than President Bush.

Hi Art, What in the world put ypu in the hospital for 15 days? My husband and I lost our Fox News when we had to give up cable since he's been out of work for so long. We held onto it till after the election but now we are in the dark except for the computer. He does a lot of reading but my computer has some kind of virus that is rarely allowing me to even use or get to my mylot much. I'm praying this goes through. My only remark about what is going on in Washington is that it doesn't surprise me at all. We've been lied to so much through the election campaign and now that it makes me sick. I just wish the people had realized this sooner. McCain may have been too old but now it's too late. Hope you are OK!! And hope you are better. leenie

Art, When people do stupid things, they tend to be stupid, especially in this case. Sorry to be so negative but it truly is frustrating. I am so sorry for your illness. I don't know how much info you have but there is help out there. My first question is, do you have insurance (health)? I've done a lot of research since I've been disabled and found lots of help. Let me know if you need any help. Hugssssssss leenie

Hi leenie, I was put in the hospital for pneumonia (spelling) and then my heart started giving me problems. There was also a medication that was causing some serious problems. All of it ganging up on me at one time almost did me in. I'm still not doing very good but I think I am starting to mend a little. I hate to hear you are having computer problems. I have sure had my share of them and I don't like it. It is looking like I may have to give up my TV cabel too and if I do my computer and all is gone. They sent me home from the hospital with about $400 a month more meds than I was already taking. There is no way I can afford that and pay the other bills to. This campaign was one of the most effective brain washing operations I have ever seen. I think some are starting to wise up a little but it is too late now. We have a big mess on our hands that is going to stay with us a long time. I just hope the people will, learn from this and do their best to prevent it from happening again. However I seriously doubt if they will. Art
