well you probably know they will take your license if you drink and drive are don,t have insurance on your car are truck. But did you no if you are stop for parking allegal are seat belt and many other minors they will take your license if you don,t pay your fine.they will make you pay a 100.00 reinstatement fee.the only good thing is you will not have to get SR22. many people don,t pay minor ticket they get until one day it catch up with them.do you think this is fair since minor is minor and should they be so hard on a person if they don,t pay, like take there license what do you think.

I look at it as if someone don't pay a minor ticket it's becuase they don't have that extra money in the first place. So ok lets take their liscense away so they can't drive to work and make them pay even more when they can't no longer get to work to make that money. Make sense don't it? Yeah, I think it is very stupid! Just like they give you a $300 some dollar ticket for no insurance, well if you had that kind of money don't they think you would have the insurance! I mean DUH! Sometimes they just think about things they just want to find more ways to give people tickets just so they can get more money. I think insurance should be a choice anyways. I have paid insurance ever since I have owned a car and never once have I ever had to use that insurance!! They should be giving my money back!! I have paid so much in for no reason!!

i remember many years ago i let my insurance on my car run out they stoppped me and pulled me over and wanted to tow my car and about a week later took my license for not having insurance.the cost they charged me 650 dollars for not having insurance 400 dollars for letting my tags expire and they charged me 400 dollars reinstatment fee.i was so sick after this i didn,t have the money i kept putting off paying it until after 2 times they said to me i must have all the 650 dollars to pay for breaking the law.my sister loaned me the money to pay and i paid her back.so for three months i couldn,t drive anything in america.after that they sent me a letter to pay another 400 dollars after i proved i had insurance then another 400 dollar to get my licencse as long as i had SR22 this a special insurance showing iam a high risk driver.are i could pay 40,000 dollars a year let them hold it and don,t need insurance.did i learn my lesson yes i did i will never drive any car without insurance i even ask if iam riding someone elses car because not knowing is no excuse.

here, the rules are different.they do take your licence, when a traffic inspector is not in sight.and we have to go to the traffic station,to get the licence back.

I think it's fair. If you get a fine, you are supposed to pay it within the allotted time. If you are a repeat offender and get many minor fines, you are breaking the law each time you get a fine. If you refuse to pay them and they add up, oh well, you should have paid them. I can understand if you get one and maybe forget about it, even forgetting about two might be acceptable and I would say someone should not lose their license for such offense, but if you have 4-5 tickets or more that remain unpaid for years on end, sure -- take the license away!

thats true but the law they are coming out with for the drunk driver is some sort system where the driver has to breath in this machine before he drives and if he is drunk the car will not start.i think this is something good they are coming out with it could save lives.

When your license may be taken all depends on the state where you live. In my state if you get a ticket you get a court date at the same time set on the ticket. Then you have options. 1. Send your copy in with the bail before the court date and plead either guilty or not guilty in writing. If you plead guilty nothing else is required. If you plead not guilty they send you a new date for an actual trial and if you win you get the money back. 2. You can appear at the arraignment date set on the ticket and plead guilty or not guilty. If you plead guilty you have a chance to explain an the judge may lower or dismiss your fine. If you plead not guilty the judge will set a court date for trial and depending on your record and the judges mood you may or may not have you pay a bail amount as security for your showing up for the trial. Of course if you win then the bail is returned and you've paid nothing. Lose and you pay either the full fine or whatever the trial judge orders. But... I remember being in Georgia things were different. If you got stopped and cited you either paid the fine amount immediately as "bail" or they confiscated your license right then and there during the traffic stop. That was over 20 years ago though so that may have changed.
