We all need to have goals in life and here are some suggestions that I've read and liked, perhaps it may help someone. If you have decided you’d like to pursue a career in the medical profession, you may want to volunteer at a hospital. If you’d like to be a singer, but not perform onstage, you can look for jobs in recording studios. As we start our journey by spending time in the world where our interests lie, we may begin to identify our specific talents and meet people who can show us the way they climbed the ladder to success. Through their stories, we learn new and different ways of achieving our goals that match with our talents and strengths. Think about it.

All I can say is everything happens for a reason. You might not be in the field you want to be, but at one point in time, you will have to make a choice - whether to stay in this current field or to pursue whatever you like. Either way, your previous working experiences will never go into the drain since it is most likely those precious experiences will help you even if you are not in the field. By the way, motivational books are only there to motivate you and to broaden your perspectives, or to change your mindset on certain things about life. It will not help you achieve your goals. You yourselves have to go and take action. All talk, and no action, will not bring you anything but a waste of time and money (on the books). Anyway, my principle is to pursue my dreams to the best of my ability without ignoring the fact that I have commitments that I need to take care of. I do believe that no matter what I do now, it'll be useful in the end. As Steve Jobs once said, in the end, all the dots will connect with each other.

If you use to have a goal before you do something,I think you will have a good beginning. If you have a good beginning before you do the thing I think the thing will be success a half. This is a good habit that you have a goal before you do something.I think that we all need to have goals in our life. Have a good time here and good lucy~

Having goals is good, being so rigid about them that you don't even consider anything else is not good. Some of the best things that have happened to me in my life have been by accident. By being open to change I have been a lot happier than those who never give change a chance.

Hi wifeofharvey, Thank you for commenting and you make a very good point, we should always be open to change even though we are following our dream. Things don't always happen the way we expect it. Blessings.

Yes you are right Pose,as always. The best way to achieve our goal is not to wait till it falls in our lap,but to go in pursuit of it.This will will indeed lead us along the right path to achieve our ends.Infact with both my children having started their career,I have so much free time on my hands and am thinking of doing some social work, which has always been my dream.I have joined an NGO and hope to do something good for society till I am able to.....

If you need to have a goal, it should be something worhtwhile. If you are spending your whole life for money and the fame, then a time will come in the middle of the goal reaching process when you will have doubts about your own intentions. You may even loss your tempo and stop the process alltogether. Always have a goal that is going to give you a feeling of 'sensible ' accomplishement when you reach it. If your goal is just to get a job, everybody does that and there is nothing new in it and the happiness of getting it will vanish after a few months. But if your goal is trying to reach the goal of serving the patients with the outmost care and love then , if you become a doctor, your goal will sustain you in the profession since serving the patients well is an ongoing process as long as you have patients.

Hi Pose123! That is true. People who have been successful can always show the way on how they climbed the ladder. And we will all be surprised that most had a hard time in achieving their goals but all have that heart and determination to reach their goal. I guess, we can all learn from them and maybe, it will never be too late to so many of us who are still climbing and have fallen a lot of times...as long as we learn from the mistakes and we put our hearts to it. Their stories can help us as long as we know what we really want and we keep an open mind. Just a thought! take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith
