LIfes embarrassing moments!

Last winter I had a membership to a local hotel for use of the gym and pool facilities. My buddy who worked at the desk told me one day that there were NHL hockey players arriving and I might run into some of them in the gym...I wasnt supposed to know this...Nor did I really expect to see any of them. One morning my daughterinlaw and I opened the gym door to see about a dozen heads turn in our direction....(a natural response to see who entered) A sudden fear or excitement not sure which, developed and I didnt know whether to run or continue and pretend I didnt see them...Being a big hockey fan myself, they were a little hard to miss. So instead I opt for another alternative to break the ice and open my big mouth!!! "Hi guys, Im the new coach for the day so get to work!!"....can you beleive it...I stil cant!!...with that being said and very embarrassed, I scurry over to the treadmill, head down and jump up....A few seconds later, much to my amusement and surprise, 2 of the hockey players jump on treadmills on either side of me and start running backwards on the treadmill...( I would do good to run frontwards!)..One of them spoke up (Danny Heatley) and said "how is this coach"??? It was a great ice breaker and I was fine for the rest of the gym session and had a great time even being introduced to the players one at a time...That is everything went fine til I went and got dressed for the pool, only to come out and find 4 of them sitting in the hot tub!!!!....It put a new meaning to the word!!...lol....

They certainly were a fun group...They all personally introduced themselves and stated what teams they played for. It was a very fullfilling day

LOL! I think that was a great way to break the ice! It sounds like they were a great group of guys and, just think, if you had walked in avoiding eye contact and not given them the opening for further conversation, all of you would have missed out on a fun time.

lol...I think that is my built in defense mechanism when faced with something I dont know how to handle...make a joke and see what happens!! I didnt say what I did when they were all in the hot tub which is right next to the pool!...I swim up knowing full well who they are...and say..hello...arent you ED Jovanovski???
