My current laptop is a Sony Vaio. I have had this for about 18 months and it causes me no problems at all. Your choice of a Dell is quite a good choice. However, it may be an idea to wait a little until Windows 7 is released because it seems to be a much better system than Vista.

COOL! I'm using a Dell laptop too. In fact, I've been using this Dell laptop for almost 4 years now. It's still in a pretty good condition. Another brand that you can try is Hp. My mom's using it right now, and I think it's quite okay too. There are a lot of features in that Hp laptop, and there's even a built in webcam! Maybe you can try looking up for more information on these two, and try choosing which laptop would be more suitable for you.

I have a Gateway M-1625. AMD Turion, 2 GB of RAM and 250 GB of hard drive. So far, it doesn't give me any trouble at all and I'm happy using it. I heard Dell is a good brand of laptop, too. Dell and HP are good ones. I couldn't help much 'cause this one's my first laptop. But, Gateway is pretty much satisfying though. Good luck.

the latest laptop that I have is Dell XPS. It's a lot more techie than my Compaq presario (the one I'm using now). I prefer to use this Compaq laptop because I am so used to it. The Dell is quite confusing because it's already using Windows Vista.

I have one laptop from Acer. I bought it about six years ago. It is pretty long time already and it still works properly. But, I am a bit disappointed with the performance during the first 3 years. I ever had harddisk crash, virus, motherboard burn, overheat, until I can't re-format the computer. Luckily during that period, I still had warranty. I am not sure about Dell performance.

I own a dell inspiron 8200. It was great when I first got it but now its abotu 8 years old and the monitor is seperated from the motherboard. Although, it does still work! Infact i watched a dvd on it last night. It also still connects to the internet! It just takes about 7-8 minutes to boot up now for some reason. And i have to hold up the monitor. Good laptop though especially if you can get one cheap and used for under $500 - I paid $3000 for mine brand new - a little much but I used it $3000 worth I'm sure!

I have a Toshiba brand Satellite laptop. I have been using it for the last five years, taking along wherever I travelled too. Works very well. I am happy with it.
