What do these have in common you might ask. Well a couple of years ago I read a Science Fiction story in an old Science Fiction magazine, old because I was way behind in my reading, that took place in the future where when a person died there consciousness and intelligence could be transfered into an animal. This particular story was also a detective story and one of the charaters had had his "mind" transfered into a duck. In the progress of the story he told a still human detective he was working with that before he became a detective he had also done TV ads. Now just the other day the come strip "Pearls before Swine" had Pigs little guard duck having left to go to Paris with his girlfriend Maura who had just returned. Then a short time after that Maura left him to be a spokesperson. You got it, in both cases, Aflac.

I've been reading those in either Asimov's or Analog. Love them! I'm about a year behind myself...

Those are the two magazines I read, but I am so far behind that I have let my subscriptions lapse in these tough economic times.

I have paid them up pretty far ahead so they won't be lapsing any time soon. But I am terrible behind...
