why would you tag without responding?

I started a discussion today and just checked to see if there was responses - there's not - but there is a new tag on the discussion. I don't think it's really that bad of a tag, but then again if you haven't read the discussion yet you might think that the tag was about the discussion, where-in while it is, at first glance you might take the tag differently...
sorry for the tongue twister, but that's how it looks to me, even so much to say it could be about me if somebody were to not look at the discussion!
So that brings me to my question, Why would you tag without responding? If there's a response when I check, I guess I could assume they tagged first.

Well i guess that tagging without responding is possible only if the creater of the discussion or the one who started it has not added a tag..........only then does a small little text box appear on the bottom of your description and this makes anyone who visits your discussion tag it........
I may be wrong but that's what i had observe........but sometimes i feel people get a wrong idea about the discussion and tag it wrongly......this puts your discussion among the ones which is not even close to your point........

You can tag either by responding, commenting, or starting a discussion and wait for to ask "do you want to add tags?" and then add tags, separated by commas, hit submit tags and there ya have it. Or you can do it as you've said which is the little box right under the discussion. It usually asks you a few times of commenting to the same discussion if you want to add tags and then stops asking you, along with if you want to add the interest if you don't have it. Yes there's a problem when sometimes people don't understand a discussion and tag wrongly. If it is by accident they tag incorrectly it's understandable but when someone does it on purpose it's just mean.
I appreciate the response.

This is another really good discussion baby, and I am sure there are a lot of people who agree with you and are wondering why people are tagging without first responding, and then I am sure there are some who either do not tag,do not care, or are the ones who tag without responding,it is okay to tag but I think that to make the most out of mylot people should try to tag correctly, and I am sure that some people probably tag without responding because they think the discussion is a bad discussion or because they are trying to play a joke,or because they just want to be mean to the person who started the discussion,I would never tag a discussion without responding to it,other than my own discussion that is,even though most of the time I do not tag discussions I respond to,I just try to respond to as many as I possibly can to try and make more money for us,especially since our wedding is getting closer and closer as days go by,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

I had thought about people possibly doing it to be cruel but I would hope no one would tag in a mean way just to be cruel because I don't think it's right and I think that people should be more considerate especially if they are not sure that they completely understand the discussion. I also just had a thought come to my mind about if there was a way to add tags under a particular person and not just the discussion itself so that the people who want to add tags add it under themselves so we know what they are tagging!
Well I hope you have a wonderful and lovely day baby, and I am sure we will make enough money before the wedding. With the help of our family and god, we can! I appreciate the response baby and I hope you have a very wonderful day.

This does seem a strange thing to do. I have often read and responded to discussions without adding tags, but it would never occur to me to add tags to a discussion that I have no involvement with. I would assume that adding a tag is acceptable as long as the tag is appropriate, although I share your confusion as to why someone would want to do so.

It doesn't bother me since the tag isn't bad, but if the tag were to be i'd probably not only be a little irked at why they responded, but i'd be mad that they did so offensively.

There are a whole variety of people here. Most of them participate just for the sake of money. so, they're in a hurry all the time. What might also happen is that people use multiple tabs for the same mylot account and sometimes they might forget what they have written in what topic.
They might forget at times whether they've already posted a reply or simply proceeded. I know I sounded a bit confused but still, I expect you people got the idea :)

I think that you mean to say that a person might first post tags and then go back and respond to the discussion, and getting mixed up or busy, forget to respond to the discussion at all. Sometimes even the computer might restart itself.
I appreciate the response!
I wasn't confsued!
