are you allowed to have a boyfriend/girlfriend to your family? are there rules and resposibilities that your parents told you for letting you have a couple? i am under a military family so i am not yet allowed to have a boyfriend, but i do have one. hahaha. its so hard to have an illegal relationship, and my boyfriend was disappointed because im not yet allowed to have a boyfriend. =(

i am of legal age and by no means i am responsible for all actions that i make/made. and that includes to be in a relationship. my family are open minded when it comes to that side of life, no questions regarding where or what the status of my partner. background is not the deciding factor of it. i think being in a family of military is something you should take into consideration when it comes to relationship, it's up to you if you want to break the chain. it's you after all who will decide on what makes you happy.

hi there rymebristol, thank you for the advice. =) They are afraid that someday i could be pregnant and maybe they will regret because they allowed me to have a boyfriend. That's the way i see things regarding this side of life. I cannot do anything about it, so my relation with my boyfriend is a pure secret and hidden for now. =) how old are you by the way? God bless!

I am not sure when I was allowed to date to be honest, but I think that it was always a kidding thing, when someone was to suggest a dating age it'd be an outrageous age, and I would know they were kidding. I have a fiance now. I think commonly in the USA the dating age is 16.

my cousin told me that there in the usa, when children reach the age of 18, they leave their family and live an independent life. is this true? I was never allowed to date and that was not fair for me. im 19 now and my parents keep telling me to study and graduate first before flirting. because this is the culture in our country. we are conservative type.

Yes the legal age is 18, but you can get emancipated which means that as early as 16 (maybe 15) you can become of legal age, without any help from parents. We aren't to conservative, we might be urged to study and not date, but those are just a few compared to what it appears to be like here, lol.

Hi there gunagohan, Good day. Thank you responding to this issue. You are from India right? I guess it always depends on the culture and the way how your parents raised you. Anyways, yes ofcourse cheating is not right. :) Happy mylotting.

Hi wyethlovesyou. Nice discussion you have there my friend. Well, before boyfriend relationship is a big No, No in our family. That's because we're not yet graduated from college, no stable job and so on. Before I really don't understand this issue, but now I came to know the truth behind it. I can tell it would really depend how our parents will raise us and how they're parents raised them too ( You know, there are things that's been inherited, right)But like you I also had long time boyfriend but it didn't work because my family didn't like him, long story . Well, I wish you luck on your family, love life and study. Just enjoy life.

Hi there mialei23 =) thank you for responding regarding to this issue. I agree with you, my parents always tell me they were raised by their parents like this and that, so we don't have to questioned them why are they so strict when it comes to this issue. =( A sad point that I am not allowed to have a boyfriend but i do have, My dad is in a military family and that's why i am not allowed! But its part of growing up right? God bless!
