Talking trashy!

Yup. I am talking about trash! How many times a week do you have to take out the trash. Since I live alone it's not a big deal and sometimes only have to make one trip out to the garbage can per week...today is the day! So do you have to take out alot of trash? Do you have a compacter or not?

i would consider yourself as lucky,i have the garbage can full in a day(courtesy my two kids and my hubby.)but when it comes to emptying the bin,only i am available.

My husband and I don't have any kids yet, so we don't create too much trash. Sometimes we can get away with only using up one big trash bag during the week, but I guess it sort of depends on the week. We usually have to take out the trash about once or twice a week. We have never had a compactor, but it might be kind of nice to have. We are in the process of moving right now, so we will probably have tons of trash to get rid of with all of the packaging materials and everything!

I don't have a trash compactor, unfortunately. I take my trash out three times a week. I would have less trash if I didn't have a dog, but still, that isn't a lot of trash. I have to walk so far to the trash bin that I am grateful I don't have to take it out so often.

Hi Jill, I recycle most of mine and they come every fortnight and I have a box outside the front door and then once a week any rubbish that needs to go into landfill I carry out to the street. It has to be out by 7am but not allowed overnight so quite often I am running out in my PJs and dressing gown at 5 to 7 LOL. Huggles. Ellie :D

What is so bizzarre is that where I am it has been sunny all day and yet yesterday just a couple of miles up the road the army were helping rescue hundreds of stranded motorists and all the roads were closed. I drove to work and the first sign of heavy snow was about foot deep in the car park at work. One of the reasons I haven't been online as much is because it is so cold near where the computer is. My eldest daughter can't get back home to Cambridge so is staying in London at the moment and my youngest has been out on Dartmoor playing in the snow which again isn't that far from here. We had a slight layering on Monday so my son got to make snowballs in the playground in the morning but it was gone by the afternoon. Huggles. Ellie :D

Every friggin' day we have a garbage bag fill up.
Cooking, cleaning, old newspapers that I must let pile up for my wife needs them for art projects as she is a teacher.
We throw a lot of stuff in the garbage. Old phone, light bills, coupons, etc.

We don't have a compactor and I think when we get a new house that's a big thing that I want. Right now we take out about 2 bags of garbage per week plus recycling bin. I think it would be less if the garbage wasn't filled with diapers. I can't wait until my little girl is potty trained :)

We take out the trash daily. My husband takes it out in the morning before he gets the newspaper from the front lawn. He's a creature of habit. If the trash is full during the day, I get it out of here. We don't have a compactor. Thought about standing in the big trashcan outside to compress it with my body weight but then decided I wouldn't be able to get out. Not a good thing for the neighbors to see..lol

Usually, we have to take out trash once or twice a week. If our trash really smells, we tend to take it out earlier than we would have it the trash didn't smell as much. We just hate having a smelly apartment because for some reason, the smells in our apartment really carry, especially if we get a meal out or something. Something that smells good when you bring it in usually smells bad rather quickly so we just go ahead and take the trash out.

I had to go and throw out the trash because the garbage guys did not come for pickup. Trash can be a problem and it should be properly disposed of. Cheers!!

I take out trash everyday. I have a lot of diapers and things in my trash though. I also have a family of four. I wish that i did not have to take out the trash everyday. We live in an apartment so i have to put the bags of trash in my car and drive them to the compacter.

No we don't have a compacter. I live in a gated community and we pay maintenance. Part of this maintenance means that we get our lawn mowed once per month and our trash is collected on a daily basis. And I can't work this out. Other houses have children too, but we have so much trash.
Sometimes two big garbage bags full. I see other people putting out one small bag and I have to wonder where ours comes from. We put ours out every night as it is collected early in the mornings.

Trash has to be taken out everyday at our house! With eight people in the house it don't take long for the trash to build up! And with four of them in school bringing home piles and piles of paper each day, wow yes we go through so much trash!!

I have a very big family. The garbage needs to be taken out st least once a day, sometimes two. with 6 people in our house, garbage gets full really fast! It doesn't compare to last Christmas when I had lots of family members over for the holiday. With all the disposable plates, cups, paper towels,pop cans, all that wrapping paper and everything else the garbage a minimum of 3 times a day! There was so much garbage, I paid one of the neighborhood kids to take it all out.

I have a family of five. So trash gets taken out on a regular bases here. We have 4 trash cans to put out a week for the trashman to come pick up. They are not always full. It depends if there was a holiday, birthday or some other reason we would of had extra trash.

0 yes that is right I never take the trash out my husband does :))) When we got the house I told him that is the only job I want him to do in the kitchen and that it was his responcibility. So he takes it every day. Ok so I have taken it out few times but that would be like 10 times in the 3 years we have been living here.

Hi Jill,
I take out the trash at least twice a week. Don't ask me where it all comes from because I have no idea, haha. It's only me and Kash but alot of it I guess is from cleaning her litter box and throwing it in plastic bags to dispose of. I'll blame it on her, lol!

I don't have a compactor. We have a big trash can right now that uses those big black trash bags. It gets full maybe 2 times a week. We have big cans down in the basement that go to the curb on Thursdays. Once a bag gets full it goes down there until trash day.
