I made dinner last night. We had meatloaf with mashed potatoes, green beans, and my fave, double dinner rolls. And a cold glass of chocolate milk to rinse it all down afterwards. I buy the frozen dough rolls. I grease the cupcake pans and add 2 rolls into each cup. After they rise they make these huge delicious "double dinner rolls". I love breads of all types with dinner so this is a given. My wife can't eat one of these though as they are so huge. But I eat 2 usually with each meal. So tonight it's leftovers. I also ate one of these rolls with jelly on it for breakfast. Do you make double rolls? Do you eat rolls with jelly for breakfast at all? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have never made double dinner rolls but they do sound good. I have never eaten dinner rolls with jelly for breakfast, never thought about it I guess and I think that is something that I could try and would like.

I do not like standard toast at bvreakfast time. I usually have an English Muffin or even a Bagel with jelly for breakfast. Tasty treat. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That sounds like a delicious dinner. I will be making a heart shaped meatloaf this Saturday for Valentines Day with pink mashed potatoes. Now I think I'll be making the double rolls with my dinner too. I love the idea Grandpa Bob. I never made them before, I usually put the rolls on a cookie sheet. My husband loves dinner rolls and/or biscuits.

Pink mashed potatoes hun? How creative! Your dinner sounds very romantic and awesome! Happy Valentine's Day! I am making a roast with veggies for supper and I baked brownies in a heart shaped pan, iced it with chocolate icing, and then sprinkled candy confetti hearts on it!

Your dinner sounds like it was good. Yummy comfort food. I like bread too. I would never be able to stick to the Adkins diet, no bread. Fresh baked breads of any kind is the best. Hot with butter, thats some good eating.

Wow, just reading over the past year of the things you eat you must have a very fast metabolism! Cookies, candy, double rolls and all those good things would have me getting weighed on a cattle scale! Those really sound good. Meat loaf is one of my favorites!

Hey GrandpaBob, those rolls look AWESOME!! I can almost smell them from here (G)!! Some of the frozen dinner rolls really are pretty good, I like the Rhodes brand they are about as close to home baked as you can get; and I'm a baker and we all love them, it sure helps out my hands not to have to do all that rolling out etc..etc.. Love home baked bread, rolls, you name it, I love it (G)!

Wow, those look great, will have to try that. We always have a bread with dinner, whether it's biscuits, rolls, or garlic bread. I have never of thought about buying them and making them like this. It's usually the good ol knead and roll and all that good stuff.. Thanks for sharing this with us today! I like jelly on my biscuits from the night before, but never have done the whole rolls with jelly!

These are premade rolls in the freezer section. Just grease the pan and cover them letting them rise. No kneading etc. Simple and tasty. I buy a brand called Rhodes. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Oh, my goodness, that sounds like a good meal! I love all of it. I've never made double dinner rolls, but I do make big ones. I make them from scratch and make enough to have them for dinner, breakfast and lunch for at least a couple of days. I snack on them, too.

I need a man to cook meals for me!!! I don't eat many rolls, and while I like them, just don't make them for myself. I'm also not a big jelly fan, blueberry is the only jelly I really like and I like orange marmalade.

I have never even heard of double dinner rolls but you would be on my DIL's list of favorite people if she got her hands on one...I don't usually eat rolls for breakfast....but yesterday I did make a loaf of homemade bread for when the kids came over for lunch....they took the rest of the loaf home with them.

That all sounds truly delicious, GB ... we've got cold, rainy weather this morning (15 degrees, as opposed to 43 last week) - and the thought of a lovely hot nutritious meal like that is YUM. We don't have double dinner rolls - they sound wonderful! (I'd put garlic butter in them ...)

I don't have them eithet. I make them by doubling the dough into one cupcake. So that's why I call them "double" dinner rolls. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Those are some fine looking rolls there! I make the Rhodes brand frozen rolls all the time but I have never done the double ones. I'll have to try that the next time because I am a big bread eater. Sometimes my dinner is just rolls with butter or apple butter!

The dinner sounds absolutely delicious and the bread rolls look magnificent. I am a bread eater - love all kinds of bread. I had never heard of these double dinner rolls though. How I would like to sink my teeth into one of those. Not available in my country. I eat bread for and with any meal. Reminds me when I was a child in the U.K. We had a bakery near us and we knew when to go and buy bread and it was so delicious. Hot and we would devour one loaf of bread with butter. what a memory. I doubt if the bakery is still there. Blessings

I love fresh bread any time, not just with meals. What I usually do is make my grandmother's yeast roll recipe from scratch, but that takes most of the day to let them double rise. I've had Rhodes frozen bread before, and it was good, so maybe I need to try your trick. Thanks for sharing.

When I have time I always make the frozen dough balls. I make them just like you do with two to a cupcake pan.I love the way they taste when they are all baked. I usually just use butter on mine, my hubby like jelly like you. I can usually eat two with a meal.

The double dinner rolls sound so good. I would love to have some. I have never thought of putting them in a muffin tin. I have put them just on a cookie sheet. I made a double batch of chocolate chip cookies yesterday and they are so good. I am thinking of making almond cookies tomorrow to take up to Reno when when we go on Sunday.

Hi Grandpa Bob! It is not that often that we have dinner rolls as we usually have rice in every meal. But whenever we have dinner rolls, we usually have leftover rolls and we do have them the following breakfast or brunch. lol..And yes, we sometimes have jelly or jam with it. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith
