Lazy Scrapbooker

I was at a friend's house on Saturday - she hosts a crop ever 1st Saturday of the month. Which is really nice. She has about everything imaginable there and lets up use anything we want. And I mean everything - Cricut, Sizzle, paper, rubberstamps, embellishments galore, punches and the list goes on. I decided to take over my VM Vegas Conference that I finally started last year and just need to finish (the trip was only in 2007). And I needed letters for page titles, but darn if I wasn't just lazy - I didn't even want to get up to go to the Cricut machine to cut any out. I just felt like using letter stickers. How bizarre is that? I have been known to run out to the store if I need something or have to have it for a page. But not this weekend. Anyone else ever feel like that? Just feel like using something that is easier and less time consuming?

Don't feel bad you guys. I think sometimes we just over stress ourselve... there is SOOOOO MUCH out there to do with scrapbooking and we all try to keep up with it all and do amazing layouts.. that at times.. we just get burned out. So what if they are stickers instead of die cut letters - at least your layout is done and great and the memory is preserved! I went through a time when I couldn't make myself do another layout! So I sat there literally all one weekend obessed with punching! At that time I created punch art items. so I just punched a bunch of the common shapes and created a stock of punchies! While later when I was ready to work again... I had the punchies ready and was able to do things quicker and kind of just got caught up. I also found if you give yourself a break..you won't get burn out and be seemingly lazy... don't worry.. you'll pick up again!

That's a good idea. I just got done making a bunch of Valentine's Day cards and I thought I was ready to scrapbook, but nope. But I was glad with the seven pages I got done, complete with journaling.

I can say that it is okay to take the level of scrapbooking you want to deal with, if it is not fun, itwould not be worth the trouble for you. Why have something else to stress over when you can do something that is fun instead?! I had my punches out one day and my grandson and son in laws came in. THey were so funny playing with those punches. You would have thought they would have thought it a girly thing to do , but they just kept pucnhing and punching. I picked up little critters off the floor for the afternoon. ha!

I was off from work a few weeks ago and when I felt a bit better I did do some scrapping...and the cricut machine was just a few feet from me and I never even set it up....I used stickers like you...mostly because I was trying to get caught up on one book and finish off another....so I could move on! LOL...so yes...sometimes I can be a lazy scrapper too!

That makes me feel better. Of course I was scrapping with some one who was embossing a map, making letters from a flag and using distressing methods. And I just didn't feel like at the time. lol.

I get that way sometimes, too. I just get lazy and don't do things that I know I should do. Even things I want to do! What's funny is that when I read Cricut machine, my eyes saw "circuit" and I wondered why you would need a circuit machine when scrapbooking!

LOL - I don't know, if I had some circuits, I might use them on a page - ha ha ha.

My thing is that I am the type that will get an idea to do something that involves very detailed finishes and I'll get partially through it and ask myself "why am I doing this again?" LOL

I think this is probably the reason why I don't have a lot of fancy gadgets, it takes to much time and effort to drag it all out, and it's much easier to do it myself than to rely on those machines...lazy? cheap? I don't know, but it is definitely easier.

I don't know if I would say that I am a lazy scrapbooker. I have a lot of tools that I rarely use. I am a very simple scrapbooker and focus on most of the time just focus on getting the pictures on the page. I crop my pictures into different shapes, (mainly ovals and squares) but I hardly ever use any of my shape cutters anymore. I like the idea of pre cutting them. Another idea that I know some of my friends do is use pre made borders. Make a bunch of borders for different holidays and seasons and then when you are working on a page they are ready to go. It makes putting pages together quick.
