Cheat of NOT to Cheat?

Philippines

Hi to all gamers. Ever played games without cheating? What would your feelings be if you finished the game cheating or not? Would that make you popular? I have been a gamer since I was a kid and there are times that I do cheat in RPG games most especially if I don't beat the game and if it is out of my knowledge. With the puzzles inside the game that I cant understand, riddles that make my head dizzy. How bout you? Don't tell me you didn't ever cheated at least once. ^_^

I was actually going to say that I don't cheat, but I have for RPG games. I try not to cheat, but I do enjoy looking at the guides that are provided by gamefaqs.com. I don't feel that the walkthroughs provided there are cheating but rather guidance when you are stuck... As for cheat codes, I definitely try not to use those. I did try to use one but am not sure if it was actually activated or not.. though per guide it says it was, I am still not sure.

I can see where you are coming from there, and agree that some guides and walkthroughs can be considered cheating while others just point out the obvious to a weary gamers mind... ehehe.

for me using walk through or any other guides for the level guide or any other game guide is also a part of cheating .. because it helps you to finish a certain task in the game. God bless and thanks for the comment

Hehehe. I think 90% of all gamers are using walkthrough especially if it is a quest base RPG game with full of puzzles and riddles to solve. This is one way of their marketing idea. Giving us hard time to finish the game and for us gamers we will buy or search for walkthroughs.

This is a good discussion and I am sure there are a lot of people who like playing video games, and I am sure that different people probably have different opinions when it comes to cheating on a video game, and I have been a gamer since I was a kid and I am a big gamer and I could not imagine my life without video games, and I will cheat on games from time to time, but only if I can not beat something, and I will sometimes use a walkthrough to figure out where to go or what to do,but I do not consider that cheating since it just tells you how,and I still have to do it,especially since I play war games and it is sometimes hard to figure out where to go,or what the objective is,have a great day, good luck with your life, and all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

Play the Game First without a cheat then after finishing the game or understanding the whole story, revealing the secrets and side stories, that would be the time to cheat, and not just cheat super cheat up to maximum level, har har! Happy posting!^^

I remember using cheats just for fun when counter strike 1.6 wasnt under valveĀ“s protection system. But then in relised that it was boring. True skill is what makes my adrenaline pump when im playing a game. So i say NO to cheats, it just ruins any game

Yes i cheated once in a game.It was a very simple detective game.I really did not know how to find the things and the way. Then i made a walkthrough search. From there i got hints how to play the game and find the things.Even some grand theft auto games to collect bonuses i searched for walkthroughs and played.

Hmm. I guess those items are really hard to find because you used a walkthrough. Some games are like that giving us so much hard time to explore on things.

I always play the game without the cheat first and if I can finish it so I won't need any cheat. But when I can't acomplish the one level in that game and begun to frustate. I will search cheat on internet and use it. Then I will feel better. Because my purpose to play game is to wipe out my strees, not to add more stress in my mind. So it depend with the situation. Sometimes I play game with cheat to have a more fun with it like a "GTA" game. It very intersting to use the cheat when playing the game. Keep post happy myLotting...

I nevered used any cheats for any games. I have played most of them throughly. Some are just too hard and I have to look through a walk through. I am currently playing F.E.A.R. the first one and I am kinda stuck. Also downloading the demo for residently evil 5, cant wait till its out . I havent played any games with riddles or anysorts but puzzle games. I always play easy for every game I get then try to beat all the other difficulties. The game I am still stuck on is Turok...so I just kinda gave up playing it lol. Its just sitting there and I dont want to play it. Cheating just makes the game less fun. It looks kinda fun when other people use cheats and can possibly do anything but it could mess up the system.

I see. All of us people have different points of view of what game to play. I like playing the quest base RPG games. That is why I sometimes use walkthrough. But in some games like resident evil. I don't use any kind of cheats I play it on my own to finish the game.

I played a few games without cheating. Although I didn't get the best items and equipments, the thing is, I played it fair and I get to experience the real hardship of the game. It also gives credit to the makers of the game because they really worked hard for it. Cheats like walkthrough are nice sometimes. A game can be very frustrating if you get stuck in it. But then again, it's a sense of accomplishment if you don't cheat and solved it on your own. ^_^

I agree with you. But I think most of the games that are being released nowadays are hard. It is one way of marketing business. So that their walkthrough would be bought in the market. I have played few games to without using any kind of cheats and I get dizzy sometimes playing it.

I haven't used any codethings in years while playing games. As for cheating through FAQs, I only do it if I'm stumped or know that I will be. I don't feel bad because sometimes cheating saves time and it's not like the Faqs can PLAY the game for you. In boss fights, for example, a FAQ can give you a strategy, but that doesn't mean it would work for you. As for puzzles, if they're hard enough, I have no problem using s FAQ to solve a puzzle because I don't like puzzles very much anyway.

Uhm in my own points of view. I think any kind of references would be considered cheating. That is for me only.... I think playing the game with your own not asking questions of guides would be considered as not cheating. Beat the game on my own policy ^_^

Everyone has cheated at least a couple of times, but the games is more fun and more exciting without cheats, because the difficulty is higher, the more challenge the better.

I always started the game in hard mode. I don't want to waste my time playing easy stuff. If I can't beat the game in hard mode then I will lower the level to medium. This is my game strategy. Playing it hard for the first time is more exciting than playing it in easy mode. ^_^

ahaha.. It depends on the player for me reading a walktrough is not cheating it's like reading a cook book for you to know what to do next but dont try to use any gameshark or a action replay maxx tools to beat a game, it's like selling your soul into a demon (toinks) XD

uhm. Walkthrough is a kind of cheating. Reading anything about the game of how to go to the next level. What kind of level or enemy you may encounter. Sometimes walkthrough also gives in-game cheats and ideas on how to beat the game. Playing on our own without any references are not cheating. That is how the game works. Sorry if I oppose your perception on the use of walkthrough of not being a kind of cheat.
