Does anyone know of any available money or tax credits for single women with no children/not pregnant living below the poverty line? I am looking for anything I can get. Thanks...

I might be wrong but I don't think there are any tax breaks for a person filing single. I am a single woman to and I haven't found any so far.

Well my attorney told me yesterday that I could be easily getting $1500 a year back for different credits, allowances etc because I make such little money. I quit my job back in march to open my own business and haven't made a cent from the business so all I am working with is liek the $3500 I made the first of the year - I did see there is the earned income tax credit and the recovery rebate credit but that is as far as I got. I also was told there is a government assistance program where single people below the poverty line can get $15,000 free grant to purchase a home but the money actually doesn't have to go towards a home...so I'll keep looking - thanks for the response...

Thanks I'll have to check them things out and see if I qualify for any of them. Is any of your tax credits for being self employed? If not, I know that there are different types of tax credits for that also.

Well, thats my biggest problem! lol - I am self employed (sorta) I am a %50 owner of a business that the other owner put every penny into and me none - so the problem is claim to be self employed or claim to be unemployed?! lol - It's hard because when I'm filling out forms there are sooo many answers I could choose and it's hard to pick the best one that really suits me. Because yes I am a self-employed business owner but the business is in a loss for the year and not a gain and not involving any of my personal money or assets. bah! it's tough!
