Life?

What is life? How many of us are truly living? I take a moment, I take a breath... and I ask myself these questions... So much power in the hands of a few so called leaders, but where are they leading us? The human race is the only one that seems to not get the point. Peace on earth? I know that most of us have asked and keep asking for this... but we keep getting in our own way. Life has become something we just do to get by while we're here. We do not understand the meaning or value of our own lives. How confused are we! What's in store for us, a life of slavery, a life of suffering. So many have so much, while so many others starve. Is not every human life worth the same? I suppose it depends on our definition of it. Have I bored you yet? Or are you like me, searching for inspiration at the turn of every corner...? For so long, I wanted to write something great, something that people would read and say, well that was worth reading. I, like so many others, want to reach into the minds of people and turn something on, something that has been opressed since the beginning of time. I ask, why so much suffering? Some nations are rich, while others struggle behind with nothing. Until when? Are we waiting for some outside force to come and save us from our self destruction? Why do we fail to act now? Are we hoping that the world leaders will finally have a meeting that will put an end to all the troubles of the world? It's so easy to pawn the fault on someone else, and just go to work everyday. We're cowards. I don't want war, I don't want violence. I want a revolution of the mind so great that will cause a tremble in the hearts of those that think they can destroy us. Where does all this so called "evil" come from? If God made us in his image, to reflect love and respect for all things. Oil, money, materialism? What is all this worth? Why don't we think about those that are dying in far away countries, far from our reality. Make something of yourself. What does this mean? I am complete. I want knowledge that will inspire a change in me, a change in others. To care. What a wonderful action. I write these words in hope that someone out there is "listening". I write these words in hope that a chain reaction will occur... Let's change the world, and stop thinking that we can't.

Hi,nashka. The first thing up to my mind when I saw your topic is "life is simple". I have considered myself as a money maker machine for a long time since I came to Australia. Life here is totally different than I have before, simple, clear and quiet. Maybe sometimes its over quiet that I felt a little bit boring. However, that is the life I want! I do not need much, enough is OK. You said where "evil" come from, in my opinion, it comes from "greed". We do not need so many things in our lives, but still, lots of people require more even they don't need. I appreciate that you have a kind heart. We cannot change others, but we can change ourselves. On March 1st is Clear Up Australia Day, I will take part in this campaign. Have a nice day!

What a wonderful response to read. You have been the only one to respond. How is Australia? I have always wanted to visit. I have also relocated this past year, from a busy city life to a quiet farm land on the outskirts of a small town. I love to cultivate the land. Sometimes I feel the same way, it does get a bit borring, but nothing compares to the quiet life one can lead here. Where did you relocate from? Enjoy the campaign, how does clear up Australia day work?

From China, a country full of jollification. I do love my country, my family and friends, but it is hard to get a quiet place no matter where I am, home, office or even in the library. I have come to Australia for two weeks, and it's my first oversea experience, every thing is fresh here! I do not know much about Clean Up Australia Day (sorry about making a mistake, it's "clean up", not "clear up"), so I may join the local community to clear up where we live. Here is the website below about that day: http://www.cleanup.org.au/au/
