For the last decade, since the cellphone revolution hit India, Nokia has been The Brand to go for when it comes to reliable cellular phones. But now, I think the consumers have a wider choice, with no compromise on the quality. For example, Samsung has launched some of the sleekest mobiles in the world, Sony have launched the Walkman series of phones which just blow you away. And, Motorola is not far behind either, although it still has some issues. What do you think?

Myself being a cell phone Dealer , has seen a lot of downtrend in the sales of Nokia phones. The reasons you have put are taken into consideration. But the most important reason for this downtrend of the Nokia phones is that the production of these phones in Chennai.Till now the production used to be in Sweden or some other countries from where we used to get the phones(i mean for Indian market).Likewise the quality was there. The Nokia phones which were produced in India have lesser quality(most sets have some sound problem) compared to the phones which were produced outside. As you said Samsung , Sony Ericsson & Motorola have come up with sleek & beautiful phones now.The main advantage for Nokia till now was its battery.Once in 2-3 days it was sufficient to charge a Nokia battery. But now all the other players have come up with quality batteries so that people neen not look only for Nokia handsets.

Hey, Yea well I think it has, since now their are many other companies focusing on creating new and innovative phones. I reckon that Nokia will still be a reputable company for many people, but their will be more choice now. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

Well, I think that nokia has dominated the market because of its good marketing strategies. The fact that nokia has been on top of the cell phone markets for quite some year. Their target are both middle class and lower class consumers. Way to go nokia keep it going..

I am not from India but i know lots of Indians at my workplace. Almost all of them used Nokia phones while I am using Sony Ericsson. They are amazed by its design and user interface but somehow not confident to try it out and buy it. I didn't persuade them to buy but lately they started to think otherwise.
