"I can't believe my eyes" Minutes after responding I got a BR!

I ask.."Do I deserve to be given the BR' in split seconds just even before I could load to my emails for my next notifications? This is the fastest I ever get here since joining and this should qualify for the Guiness Book of Record. My response might have touched you but I don't expect a quickie award of the BR. This is unfair to the others who come later then me. But it is your discussion, your decision and I should not fret and say no more but a BIG thank you to you my fellow mylotter for you have found the answer to your doubts in my response to your post. It adds a feather to my cap! Now my question is would you act spontaneously in giving out your BR? Or are your doors still open for other responses to come before you exercise your rights to give out the BR ? What is your time frame before you come to a decision?

Hi zandi! That's really nice that you got a BR, but I don't really know! Maybe what you said was what that person was looking for? I wait for a few days usually at least to give a BR. I don't want to wait too long, but I do want to give others enough time to respond. I would never give one out immediately even if I thought it was the perfect response. That just doesn't seem right.

I like to wait a while also on giving out a best response. Sometimes there are a couple of days time span where someone might add another response and it could be a better one then the one you were going to award as the best response.

Honestly some of my discussions remain unresolved since last year. Am guilty for hanging on too long!

I have only been given one since I have been on here. I think it was mainly due to being the only one who did respond. In a way, I am not too fond of the BR rating system. When I do it on my discussions, I feel like I am telling others that the input they shared was not worthy enough. I do realize that you give positive and negative ratings as well, just sometimes it is tough to decide. I usually wait awhile before choosing a BR, as there are times where there are few or no replies.

Giving BR is nothing more than to resolve your discussion and is part of our participation in mylot. Yes, we need to wait for more responses to pick the best.

Well congratulations...uh, sort of...LOL. I can never understand why some mylotters DO give out BRs only after a few responses or for a discussion just started. I've often come across a discussion started only an hour ago, already having a BR. I think the protocol is that a person who starts a discussion should at least wait a few days to give out BRs to give everyone else a chance to respond. As for how I award BRs? Often times I don't...yes I do rate people. The thing is I often get stuck when I have more than one response that deserves a BR....so often times I simply skip the whole BR rating.

Not a good practice Pye. Your discussions remain unresolved! And mylot policy is to resolve all discussions.

A lot of people don't give brs I do make a point of rating each response though....was just looking now...I have over 70 pages of unresolved discussions..I just can't keep up...I'm having problems just making replies to my responders in my own discussions as it is...now that I'm not here as often with all my article writing and other work

Guiness Book of Record! Good, I also have to look into my BRs and I also think that I got it withing minutes. It was just me who was in that discussion for that time. She has given it to me, I even wanted to tell her that she was way too fast. Anyway, I don't have much BR in my case so, I didn't make any argument. May I look into that discussion? You can pm me that link Please!

The more you respond to others the better are your chances of acquiring BRs.

i think u have got best response for first time. u can get best response within seconds if u;r answer is genuine and other party thinks it is best.if other party given u'r answer best response, mylot can post that response soon within seconds, and u can know about it within seconds . thanks and congrats for getting best response. one day i have got two best responses for 2 answers i have given and i feet great that my answers are valuable here . then that day i feel that i 2 feathers on my cap like u told. upto now i have got 4 best responses ,in 2 month after i entered here . u also can get more best responses when u give more answer and genuine answer.

Of course receiving a BR is great and inspires us to response to many discussions in the hope that others appreciate our views and earning that BR. But being the first responder and getting an instant BR is not a thrill for me as there is lack of challenge there. Congratulations to you for earning many BRs. It shows your efforts are appreciated.

First of all a big Congratulation. As you have shown your concern on such actions I too have noticed that some users do not wait long and just with 3 or 4 responses they select the BR. I am against it. At least I wait for a week or the least 5 days before I choose the BR. A BR is a sort of recognition and an award too. Hence why should we deprive some others who could possibly leave even a better response? It could be say in your case - the user must have been waiting for you to respond and as it got recorded he spent no time to give you a BR. lol.

ha.ha..ha.. actually am a regular to this person's post as his discussions are very catchy though short but very clear and with weight. I think upon seeing this post of mine he'll think twice now to award me with a BR. Whoever you are, sorry but this is only another topic of my discussion for the day. I hope he will not hesitate to give me BR in future.LOL

Sometimes when we are in our best mood we tend to be quite perfect in our responses and this might have strike the poster at the right instance.

First of all heartiest congratulations on getting a quick BR and for its likely entry into Guiness Book of world records. If I start a new discussion and start receiving responses, I donot choose the Best Response spontaneiously. I won't normally act spontaneously, even if I consider a response to be worthy of the Best Response. I will allow others to respond, you never know, who is going to come out with well considered thoughts and there are always chances of receiving a better response. I allow the discussion to remain open because if I happen to mark the best response at the one go and later on some better response is posted, I may not feel repentent, because in that case, I cannot mark the best response. As far as I am concerned, there is no time frame, in fact I take considerable time to decide the BR in a discussions, may be 2-3 months, which I know I should not, yet I am lazy in selecting BRs.

I am also giving my BR at that period but maybe longer. But remember it counts in mylot participation too. I still have tons of discussions unresolved. As seasoned players here we know BR should have to wait.

I usually start a discussion and wait at least two weeks before I give a best response because that gives the discussion time to be here and all posters to see it and have a chance to respond. Congratulations on the best response though. It is always nice to see that someone thinks that we are very knowledgeable on something.

I've been a bit negligent in this department but will wait at least a week to give everyone that wants to comment a chance. Then I choose the one I think is the best response, though at times it's difficult to choose.

So you too got the same experience as i got one before.. Moreover.. I am the first respondant for that discussion.. & i got Best Response within a minute after gioving my response. The Discussion is Regarding alertpay doubt on referral program.. That is one of the moments which i can never forget.. as i got BR just in seconds.. Then, I thanked that user personally.. Have a nice time!

Consider yourself lucky. i would not complain if I were you. Usually I give the best response award after some weeks have passed. Usually I let some days pass so that I receive more rewards. When I give the best response award immediatedly another award that deserves to be awarded might be posted.

Good on you for earning a BR! I guess you touched the person who started the discussion! I wait quite a while before awarding a Best Response because I have noticed responses keep coming through for quite a while after starting the discussion. There have been times though when one has come through and it resonated with me immediately; perhaps that is what happened with you.

Hi friend! CONGRATULATIONS on your BR!!!!!!! I will decide best response, when I find a magic or fire in that response. A cloud of words saying " this is the one I want" will revolve around me, when I get to read the response. Some times, I even reward that after few weeks....

There are discussions that I want lots of responses especially if I am really searching for a good answer, advice or tips. Usually I will wait, the least, for a day to reward the BR More often I wait for few days. You always write good posts zandi. I was not surprised to learn that you have earned BR in minutes.
