Hi, i am new to this site.though i have been here for the last 4 months but wasn't that regular before. there is something about the site or may be in general that made me to write this is. here i have noticed one thing if some woman or girl starts a discussion about any topic . all other members respond to it asap.and its especially about the other women members here too join her quickly. but when some male member starts it it takes time for the members to respond to the discussion. in the beginning i thought my discussions were not upto the standard that's why i am not getting enough attention for them.but when i tried to search the site and found that its just with quite a few other guys too. so, do the women here have formed a gang or what. and trying to put all the male members aside. is there any gender war going on in my lot?

zomg!!! He found out all about our gang!! How clever, Sunil! Yes, we are all conspiring against the males. We are taking over planet Earth. We don't reply to posts that are from men. Uh oh I broke the rule now that I have replied to you. If you want more posts change your name to something feminine. Maybe sunshine-girl or something like that. It will make your discussions flood with responses! hehe *wink wink* ;)

hi there, i take it nikky was only kidding you. It's a sort of a sarcastic remark which means that there is no such thing happening here at mylot. See that "hehe" she placed there? It means she's joking. :-D

I don't know what other women do, but if I have something to say I don't care who starts the discussion.

There are times when the silliest discussions seem to get the most responses, but you never get a really good discussion going with these topics, just a few lines at best for the responders. The ones that I think do the best are the discussions that are either controversial and/or thought provoking. I know there are some people who get worked up over these discussions, but I find them to be more enjoyable than the "how often do you bath" type of discussions. Religion, politics and ethics are just some of the topics that usually get some really good responses. People have very strong opinions about these subjects and many think myLot is a good forum in which to share those opinions and women are as opinionated as the men.

Hi, thanks for that valuable piece of writing.well, you are right about these things. discussions are hot when thought provoking. people wants a clear idea of some hot topic, and they argue to keep their point . but taking bath in bath room or in kitchen are not that interesting or provoking as a topic like this... i personally feel that my lot is a better forum where we can all raise some issue. and we know that we are going to get some good responses over the topic... thanks for your response i really appriciate that...happy my lotting...

I guess I have not noticed this at all. I would have to say I think the majority of mylot is more of females so maybe it's just the majority responds first. As for me, I respond in the order they come to me. I don't pay any attention at all to whether the discussion was started by a male or female.

Well if you say you are new here, I am much newer than you. See friend that 'ladies first' concept is everywhere and possibly there is more traffic at their discussion. But what you told is a new experience for me as within this short span I have never noticed people thronging to the female stated topic more than a male started one. I think more people go by the nature of the topic. As a newbie I have stated posting topics and yesterday had put one and I am amazed to see so many of them responding to me. I am still not done commenting back all of them. Most people what I have observed go for the quality stuff and see how interacting the topic would be. I do not believe that there is any gender bias going on here. And the gang thing is far remote.

Hi, if there is no gender biased going on here then that make me happy as well. the point that you and few other members said about responding to the topic of their interests sounds quite affirmative to me. but, what i have seen that whatever a topic may be of a female my lottian here the response is quite good as compared to the male member...

That there is no gender issue tagged here I am sure. And you know this fact friend that in any forum or anywhere women take the upper hand. This is not their fault but we males are responsible. If you compare the traffic there at a woman launched topic there would be more males than females. Hope you would start afresh now.

I know that fact very well. but have also noticed that there is always a competition among women in their mind to capture as many soldiers as they can to lead the race...which is hard to find here. all women response to each other so well here. and they hesitate to topics of other members here...but the way i am getting some responses to this topic hope i can start a fresh now...

i wouldn't say that its a bias.. i respond to topics and discussions that interest me. Doesn't matter if its started by male or female. i never even thought about whether there was an internal conflict going on at mylot. i am here to enjoy the topics and discussions and do so in engaging and stimulating fashion. if there is a bias i guess i haven't seen it yet because i am just as new.

If there is a gender war here, I wasn't invited to it. I do tend to respond to my friends discussions first and more of them are women, I guess. But other than that, I jump in on a discussion if it interests me. For your own discussions, try doing the following: 1. Always (or mostly always) reply to everybody who leaves a response on your discussion 2. visit other peoples discussions 3. add friends (even female ones lol)

Hi i think I do reply to my discussions. and do reply to the other members too. and have quite a number of female members in my friends list.still i am sensing this war type thing here. but i am sure the way members are participating in the board of this discussion will get definite positive results about my findings...

no. i do think there are a majority of women here. but i felt the same way for the first 6 mths or so. i found out it takes quite a while to get enough friends and attention here to get a lot of responses. i've seen a lot of males get hundreds of responses on 1 discussion. you'll see. hang in there.

hi sunil, there's also an element of luck here in mylot but sometimes, it's more of the right strategy and attitude. I'm still quite recent here at mylot so I don't really know the rules and strategies of the game, but it helped me when I started adding many friends, and posting discussions that seem interesting, and posting my discussions at lists with quite a lot of members already. But the key is to really be friendly, polite and honest in your opinion. You may even encounter undesirable personalities here but that's life. You just gotta go with the tide. And lastly, as far as I know, there aren't any gangs here or group of people who formed themselves against some mylot members. There's no gender clash as far as I have observed.Well there are people who have formed a certain camaraderie for sometime so that newcomers feel left out sometimes, but they'll turn out fine. Good luck

Hi thanks for that sincere comment.i liked the words that you have mentioned. see we are all here for certain reason for sure. and through discussions on various topics we are also getting informations, ideas as well as getting chance to know other members and people of diffferent coutries.so i think my lot is a great site which is allowing and helping us in so many respects. so, there shouldn't be such a thing here. but if you go to the unresolved section of the site you might find it little hard to digest that quite a few interesting topics are remaining unattained. my lot hase a huge number of members and let's say 50% of them are inactive but the rest are active.any member starts only 5-10 discussions everyday. still so many are remaining un attained. and if you see women starting some topic gets a quick response to it...:)

You call that GIRL POWER!!!HAHAHA.....just joking, okay? It's funny you noticed that. But I still think maybe more women are in mylot than men. But I don't know how true that is. But you'll be surprised that a lot of men here are the mylot experts, reaching very high ranks. No, sunil I beg to disagree that there are gender disparities here. Just keep adding friends, and posting interesting topics. YOu'll be in the circulation in no time. Good luck!

I don't think there is an Gender war in this site.. people replies depending on what caught their attention or what intrigues them in the discussion.. When I reply to some discussion here I see to it that it concerns me and that I know something with the topic..

Hi that's so nice to know. women are always been choosy though. but thank you for responding this discussion. i am looking for comments from more and more women members here just to be reassured about the idea that i had developed here. that's the way people should reply to the discussions. but not replying to one but replying to the similar topic sometimes makes others confusing about their interest chart. well we all know that everyone gives their majot attention to the women...so that's why they are getting the more responses to their discussion which is natural and an obvious reason where hardly any man can do about it...:)

haahahahhahaha!!! I'm new to this site, started about two -three weeks ago... and I haven't noticed such stuff... I'm just enjoying all sorts of topics that all the other members are posting and It doesn't really matter if the poster is a male nor a female... so long as the topic is interesting! ^_^ I suggest you just be happy with mylotting! ^_^ hehe

HI, its great that you don't have such a feeling going through you on here. but there were quite a few postings i found out which are remaining unattained.but saw similar topics started by our fellow women members here were flooded with responses from both. well, it is quite obvious for the men to give somewhat more priorities to the women all the time.no matter what they say or do...but women are also in that league... happy my lotting :)

I'm a woman, I'm new to mylot, and I don't get that many responses to my recent topics either. I think it's just the discussion. Some will be interested and others will not. I don't think it has anything to do with gender. I think someone else once asked if it had to with content size, and I think that very well may be a factor. Some people want short sweet things to read, others prefer more depth. That's the beauty of an online community such as this.

Hi, first of all welcome to the lot family. if we take the point that you are mentioning about the length of the contents and its readers and responders. then also we will manage to get some responders according to the choice.but see the unresloved category here. you will have a better idea of the subject that i am talking. since you are woman i would like to ask you something. do you prefer to respond to the discussions according to the gender issue or you will respond to the topics of your choice?

no, i am not aware of any gender war going around here in mylot. i am a woman, sunil, but plenty of the folks around here thought that i was a guy since i am a licensed civil engineer in my country. maybe the fault was mine because i didn't stipulate that i am a woman. no, i do not get lots of responses, either. however, it will good for you to know that what is imprtant is that you get a response to a discussion. so once you get the first response to your posted discussion, there is no more worry there anymore. so, my friend, settle in mylot for good and do not put so much pressures on yourself. myself, i do not generate so many discussions of my own. i always prefer to respond to discussions. still, when i do this, i always meet it to payout month after month.

Hi, well i have seen not only me but quite a few other guys here whose discussions are yet to be addressed.but in case of women lottians their discussions are filled with responses.though i am not pressurising myself into getting more and more responses.but, its an interesting statistics here. i am sure in your spare time if you go around the discussions you will also find this thing...:)

That is a generalization and very untrue! I am a woman and very few of my discussions have gotten responses. Most of them have only gotten about 2, so I was flabbergasted when I finally got one with 13. I think the idea is that most myLotters respond to discussions from their friends first, so the people with loads of replies likely have hundreds of friends. I don't have that many friends yet, so my discussions tend to fall back without being looked at.

Interesting finding. I have not noticed it before. But there can be plenty reasons for that. I got a theory for this:) It is possible here on myLot is more women as men. Women are more talkative and they care more about women stuff. Men are generally interested in different topics which women do not find that much interesting, so they respond more in women' topics as men'. But I can be wrong and there could be a big secret conspiracy against all men here in myLot. I hope no:))

Hi sunil. That is something I have not thought about until now. From my experience I usually reply to a discussion once it interests me. Hmmm... that sounds wierd mate.. I don't believe the gender of the discussion starter really matters a lot on the way other members would respond. I believe what matteres is how you present your topic and how interesting it is. Even if you're a girl or boy if your topic dont seem to suit my interest, then don't expect me to respond. Just my opinion mate...
