I see your 'slippers to work' and raise you

so, this morning, I got up at 5.30am, had my shower & my breakfast, got dressed, got in the car and drove the 10miles to work. I sat in the car for 5minutes or so, just chilling before going in. I checked the desk diary to see which area I was to be working in but couldn't find my name. When I checked the rota, I saw that I had read it as 13th when, in fact, it said 15th - so I wasn't supposed to be there at all!! (I was obviously over-keen to chase production for our business venture James!!) On the negative side, it cost me my petrol but, on the positive side, since I was back home before 8am, I changed car repair from next week and got it done today, attended a social group meeting that I have missed through being at work most Fridays, did lunch with my mum and spent a pleasant afternoon just strolling round the shops... of course, I now have to work 15th but at least I get paid time & two-thirds for Sundays Have you ever done the same or similar?

lol. You raised my slippers alright! I've spent a good 30 minutes trying to find my desk in an office complex once and then realized I was on the wrong floor! But I WAS under the influence at the time so I guess I can be somewhat forgiven! lol. It sounds like you managed to salvage yourself a pretty decent day in spite of the faux pas though Wizzy! And it IS Friday the 13th too, so maybe this was the universe making it's presence known to mark the occasion!

Yes, it was a good day and, when I went in on the Sunday, someone called in sick so I did a double shift. unfortunately, since I work less than 39 hours a week, I dont get paid overtime but, at least its at 'enhanced' rate.

I have been working at home for my self for several years now. But when I worked outside of the home I always tried to make sure I had set work days. Even on my part time jobs, I would make sure I worked the same days every week. I would sometimes pick up extra hours, but I always worked the same days every week. I have messed up on hours though coming in an hour early, or an hour late by accident. Sounds like you had a nice day. I think getting up early to go to work and not having to turned out to be a very nice thing for you.

Yes, it did! I just wish I could have been as productive this week when I had all 7 days off....

Ooops! My dad went to Disney World in his slippers once because we all came out of the house in a rush...
