Do you hate your mom's cooking?

When I was living at home, I hated my mom's cooking because I feel like we are eating the same food all the time. And when she try to tempt us to eat more, she adds food coloring. Come on --- who thinks green rice is appealing? But now that I have been living on my own for over a decade, I really miss her cooking. Whenever one of us have a birthday, we gather at my parent's home for dinner.

My mum's cooking are not very delicious but I've grown to like her cooking. At least her cooking is healthier as she does not use MSG, coloring, or excessive fats. The dishes are usually plain and simple, but healthier than the food that I eat outside. Since you're living alone, you can cook something that is simple and yet healthy.

Yeah, MSG is very bad for our health. My mom also didn't use such flavoring. I like it the way she cooked food. It's very simple and even if there are no artificial flavorings the food still taste very delicious because of spices.

perhaps that is all she knew how to cook or perhaps that is all she could afford for food. sometimes we make do with what we have. we have been having pasta at least once a week and both my daughters are complaining but we are finding hard to make ends meet some weeks.

I really didn't like my mom's cooking because she didn't try. In fact she thought it wasn't right to spend more than 15 minutes in the kitchen. She only used a handful of ingredients, like kidney beans, tomato sauce, rice, and ground beef. She mixed them together in a skillet and called it goulash. I have had to learn how to cook from friends and neighbors.

I don't hate her cooking but I sure am tired of it. I counted it out. She makes the same 10 dishes all the time. I'm so tired of it. And I hate leftovers now because of her. I love cooking and cook books and new flavors for old things thanks to her so maybe its not all bad!

i'm not saying this like i'm a doting daughter but really my mom's cooking is the best yet i've ever had.. haha... Not even the expensive restaurants could beat her dishes... Sometimes, we would have a little celebration amongst ourselves and when we take a bite, we always end up pretty disappointed with the food... haha...

I love my mom cooking!!! Though she only cooks if my grandparents are out... I'm the one tasting my mom's cooking so if i don't like the taste i'll just tell my mom to do something about it... The only problem is that i like strong taste but my father doesn't like that so he doesn't have a choice... HAHAHAHAHAHA....^^

I liked a few items but I hated her cooking for the most part. She even went to cooking school to become a chef (didn't pan out after she graduated). It drove me nuts she made such awsome treats when I was young while she was in school. But even with that knowledge she still only cooked her meats and such in ONION SOUP! BLEH! It's good on 1-2 thing from time to time but this was on almost every meat, it was seasoned with onion soup & almost always was paired with french fries or country fries. She could never understand why I made immiatation crab pasta salad or chicken noodle soup and made such a big batch that I'd eat it for days on end because I was bored of onion soup! *lol*

I definitely love my mom's cooking! She made awesome and mouth watering home cooked fare for us to enjoy when we were much younger. However, as we grow, the frequencies got lesser, as mostly we will be tied down by work to return home early. Sometimes at work, I will think of those excellent dishes prepared by her.

Acctually, I LOVE my mom's cooking!! It was she who inspired me to learn to cook in the first place. She has somewhat exotic tastes, and she isn't afraid to try any recipe out there. I think once you know the basics of cooking, you just get better at it, and learn what foods go with what seasonings, etc. That is why now I will try almost any kind of food! My Mothers cooking was so varied that I would try anything she made.

Most of my mom's cooking I never really cared for. I just never thought of her as a very good cook. But there were some things she made that I loved. And I miss them now that she is gone. Her cinnamon rolls, her applesauce donuts, her no bake cookies and her home made pizza. Those things she was very good at making. Maybe one of these days I'll try one of her recipes.

When my mom was younger, she use to cook various foods. When she got a little older, she started getting a house helper that does most of the cooking for us for several years. We were not satisfied with the new cook, either it's salty or tasteless. When my mom started cooking again, it seems her style and way of cooking has changed, sometimes the meat is not well cooked. Maybe she needs some recalling of stuff. How I miss those time when she was younger.

Green rice? I have never heard of that, let alone had it. I don't hate my mother's cooking although she is just an okay cook. but at least, she cooks better than I. I don't hate anyone's cook because I appreciate the one who cook for me, no matter he/she is a good cook or not.

You are right. My mom always cooking same food every day. It is very boring. Actually i don't like to eat it, but i won't to make her hurt. So i eat that. For me it is not a big problem, I just feel boring.
