whats the best recording program for free?

hello everyone, whats the best recording program you can get for free online? i am a music writer and have bought all the pc mics and stuff, but i cant find a program without a descent sound and that isnt a free trial,. any help here folks? ive tryed audacity, mixcraft, all sorts

Try mixcraft or just do a search for freeware. I hate to sound like a jerk, but a lot of times you get pay for. Quality and price go hand-in-hand sometimes. The only free program I can think of is N-Track. I used to use it. It's pretty good though.
