So now that I'm an adult I've been needing things like apartments, electronics, and a cell phone. But I really can't do any of this because I don't have any credit. Recently I've been thinking about getting a credit card. But not sure where to apply. Who has a credit card here? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? Suggestions for me?

The best credit card for someone just starting out would have to be capital one. There is never a monthly fee unless you go over your limit. I had never had a credit card before and they were the only company that would give me one. They approved me for an unsecured card which means I had to place a deposit before they would allow me to use the card. I didn't want that so I just threw out the letter and a couple months later they sent me a letter informing me that I was approved for a regular one with a limit of $500, so I took it. Another option is getting a prepaid one for things like cellphones. They do not actually charge your credit card if you do contracts and it says your phone is $0 unless you actually buy something else off their websites or in store.

I was going to go with Capital One, but my bank approved me first. and I think its a better deal. Unsecured card? haha sounds like a scam. Im sure its not since its Capital One, but I'm just saying.

Every credit card I have heard of has this option which is also called a prepaid credit card.

If you have good credit, I suggest you get one through your bank. Most banks off er 0% for 6 months, then have a 6% interest rate (permanent) that's the way to go. Don't get more than 1 card and never get store cards. If you ever need a loan, those store cards will work against you!

Thanks for the adive. I ended up getting approved from my back, and all the numbers seem good. I was thinking about getting a store credit card, but I wanted a card that could buy me anything. lol.

Credit cards are good and I like them and then sometimes I don't like them. Now the reason I got a credit Card is because I need to have credit to do some things and when I got my first credit in my hands it was like looking at some gold. I though now I will be able to get my credit up then I can do those things I want to do but it dose not go as fast as you think. I started to use my new credit card and what I found out is don't use a credit card unless you have the money for every your going to buy so you can pay the bill right away. Even though my credit was only $300 I still used it up and I could not pay it bake all at once so I had a new bill where I had to pay the min every month. I say get the card but only use it when you have the money for what every you are buying that way you wont get in to credit card debt.

Yeah I hate the stupid cycle of credit cards. its viscous. I got approved and they actually gave me a $500 limit. But it went so fast! I managed to alomst max it out in like two weeks (but crazy controlling ex boyfriend made me spend about half of it.) But it was cool because I finally bought an IPOD touch. I've wanted it so long. I don't know what my min. payment is yet. something like $10 or so. But Im making a habbit of making the payment at the bank the same time I cash my check( my bank gave me my credit card). I just put like $50 in every two weeks. so that's working very well. Just hope I don't loose my job!
