All of us have written some or other kind of poetry when we were young or were in our teens . But somehow never flaunted it to our friends or parents . May be because it was not Cool to write poetry :).we used to carry our dairies where ever we went . Hide it from mom or irritating younger siblings . But fact remains those lines poetry revealed our deepest emotions and feelings . Feelings of first love ,Feelings of new found friendship, Feelings of lonesome ,Feelings of lost love , Feelings of revolt, our dreams just pure fantasies i too wrote poetry on various topics and was almost convinced of printing a book. I used to write about my dreams of a different world ,things to i would like to see change, injustice to women . ya i know it is total contrast ;). Tell me what you wrote about . If you wish you can share your poetry here with all of us because i think witting poetry is not easy and only people who can do it are people who have high emotional quotient

I can relate to this, as I turned every events in my teen age life into poetry. Yes, I didn't know why. I just felt a relief whenever I could put my feelings into writing. But of course, it wasn't flaunted as you said. It was mostly hidden in my notebooks. Whatever I've written reflects my true emotions and feelings. Yes,feelings when I got my first crush, my first broken heart, anger, love, loneliness, shame and friendship. As I scanned my notes before, I felt a little shame about what I felt before. Yet, I managed to smile while I reminisced the past. It was all part of my past and it couldn't be erased. Thanks for the good topic komalkamboj!

Yes, I wrote a lots of poetry and diary. I enjoyed to read my writing after some while and wonder how my teens brain has been working to think in such a strange way. I am glad I have kept them all to read them from time to times. Some of my poetry was pretty good, I could be proud of few of them really!

i remember when i was in high school, i was aiming to join the staff of our school organ. so i wrote poetry dedicated to my crush and hoped that one of my compositions would be published. but i was so discouraged when all of my poems were not published. when i was in college, i gave poetry another try dedicated to my first love. but i just kept them to myself. i was then shy to show them around. now that i have my own blog, i posted my compositions there.
