Do you think you talk too much?

There are people who can't help but just blabber every chance they get. I'm actually irritated by those since I feel that they have the responsibility of shutting up once in a while and let the other person talk. Anyhow, I don't think everyone is aware of it, perhaps we just got carried away with emotions that why we blabber and blabber. So, do you think you talk too much? or are you one of those who barely talk in a day? Further, has anyone ever told you that you talk too much?

it would always depend on who i am with. i know how you feel though because whenever i am out and by chance happens to sit in with a blabbermouth, it really annoys me. if i am new to the crowd, i often listen to what they have to say. and try to watch my manners too. lol but when i am with my friends, i am really a blabbermouth - we usually talk stuffs from nothing to everything. laugh as loud as wecan though there are times that can't be avoided that i too can annoy some people around us, i usually say sorry - only if i noticed their annoyance. =) sometimes, with my family, i talk loudly just for their amusement. =))

No, I don't talk that much. I know plenty of people that do yak plenty, though. Unfortunately, my selective hearing isn't that good and I can't tune out other people's discussions. I wish I could because I'm not really interested in hearing other people's life stories when I'm working on something. Also, I do have a friend that I talk with on the phone that talks about himself and his life a lot.

yes very much .. i really talk too mucch.. but i have thought to use it the positive way. when ever i feel like talking about something i write it down in a paper and think about it at the end of the day and create a website about it :-) its always been a advantage talking too much. rather than just talking you can type it into a html page and host it. mostly i talk about the internet , earning money online and something about my website http://www.classifieds.reachinformation.com

No one has ever told me that I talked too much because I really don't. I am that kind of person who is quiet and reserved; a person with too much patience too. But when I have to say something and I need to express myself, or I reach the end of my rope, then that's the time nobody can't stop me from talking until I speak my heart and mind fully.

You really have a thing going on there, you're one heck of a patient person I guess, but if you're really ticked off then you blow your steam. By the way, do you hurt someone's feelings when you do blow up?

Yes, and I think that is just normal especially if I get really upset. I would still say 'sorry' for hurting the other person's feeling but I won't take back what I said. If I said something that was meant to be said, because that's what's inside my heart and mind.

Me and too much a talker? No way. Rather I am a soft spoken person and i always avoid people who are all the time with their trumpet and talk ceaselessly as if the whole mission of their lives is to talk and talk blissfully ( or intentionally ) unaware of what the other person is feeling about him. I really cannot stand such talkative people.

No, i talk less. When left at home, nobody to talk to. I don't even have talking bird pets to talked too, so i get used to talk more here on the internet than to talk to people. I used to be with people who talks a lot. And it really is difficult to interrupt when someone is talking but there are people who is like this. I was once asked by a colleague why am i quiet. I said how can i be quiet, all of you are talking, who is going to listen. I am more of a listener than a talker. I let people talk first, before i set my own turn. I gave them an opportunity to start the conversation and me as a listener. I don't mind that, it is much better for me.

I do agree with you there are lot many people who dont even bother if their bla- bla is irritating the person who is listening to him/her.And on top of it they would expect tht you give them a positive response or might be jus a plastic smile of "ya that I am listening and enjoying the conversation"which is only a speech and nothing else. Anywayz for me, nobody has ever said that I "talk too much."

I think it's good somehow because you're comfortable with the friends that you have. Well, it would certainly be awkward if you start doing that with strangers. I guess there are times when we're just happy and comfortable with the people we're with that words just come out naturally. Thanks for the response! Have a great Mylot experience ahead!

Oh it's good that you can control yourself. However, even when you're excited you don't talk?

I only have a tendency to go on when talking about something I'm writing, xD I CAN get passionate about politics and important world events, but normally I'm seeking others' opinions with that, so I don't think I go on much there. I am typically, a very quiet person. It's not that I don't like talking, it's just that I've other things to do than JUST talk most of the time.

There was a time in my life that I was a complete listener and didn't say much at all. Then something happened and I came out of my shell, and now I can have times where I talk too much. Sometimes I am just too hyper then and I can tell that I am doing it. At these times I HAVE been told that I am too talkative, but it doesn't last for long once I have used some of the energy that I have bottled up for whatever reason. Most of the time, I am NOT too talkative and think that I am good at carrying on a conversation.

Few of my friends say that I'm quite talkative but they also said that I talk with a lot of sense and a good listener too. I talk a lot at times but I also know when to stop.

Yes I think so. I talk too much. Sometimes, I talk too much on the matters that I am not that sure. It is really disappointing though. I need to be able to control myself and try to talk as effective as I can. I am still on the way learning that and managing myself to that.

I know when I get nervous I start babbling and talking, usually about pretty much anything and everything. I honestly think that some people (like me) just don't TRY to do it, but again, when we're nervous or put into an awkward situation, it seems like the "natural" thing to do. I dislike when a person is CONSTANTLY talking about THEMSELVES, though, as it's a pretty selfish & obnoxious thing to do.

Oh I don't like people who talk about themselves too. Specially if it's repeating over and over stories. Whew! Sometimes I can't help but yawn and find ways to escape the conversation. What do you do?
