Which household chore is the one that you HATE the absolute most? I really really hate to fold the laundry. I do not mind washing the clothes or drying the clothes, but once it comes down to removing them from the dryer to fold them... I CAN'T STAND IT! I really do not know why I don't like to do it but I just DON'T! As for my mom, she doesn't mind unloading the dishwasher but she cannot stand to put away the silverware... weird! I thought that was the EASY part! lol So, what ONE chore is the one that HAS to be done but you hate to do it? Remember, you can only pick one chore & please explain why you do not like to do this particular one.

The worst part of the toilet, I think anyway, is cleaning the floor around the toilet. You kinda have to get on your hands & knees to reach back there around the back of the outside of the bowl... gross!

hello koalatbs i do not mind at all putting away the laundry when that it comes out of the dryer like that. the only thing that crosses my mind when i am putting up the laundry, is that yeah they are clean! lol but the one household chore that i cannot stand doing is having to clean the bathtub out. it hurts my back to reach over to the other side of the bathtub like that to reach the far wall of the bathtub and also having to reach to the wall on the inside of the bathtub as well. so i would rather take down curtains and clean the windows anyday of the week around my house or even dust or vaccum than have to clean the bathtub. take care and have a beautiful day today!

Yes, I agree... cleaning the bathtub is reallyyy hard on the back. It hurts me too when I clean the tub. Also, another one that involves the bathtub is giving my dog a bath. That really hurts my back too so I have my teenage son do that for me about once a month or so. Man, all of you guys who are responding are JUST reminding me of ALL the OTHER chores that I HATE to do too! LoL

That is an absolutely GREAT idea to use a MOP in the bathtub! LoL... whatever works! If it helps your back not to hurt, that's even better! :)

I find it too hard on my knees to bend to clean the tub and kneel on the floor...I have since gotton a mop that is for the tub only and it makes cleaning a lot easier as I can now stand and mop. It also bothers my back too..The mop is great...But I do have one for the tub only!!

I'm the same way. I can wash, and dry the laundry but when it come to folding and hanging it all up it hurts my back so much that I dread it with a passion. Likewise with drying the dishes. I can't stand in there too long these days. So I wash and rinse them and then leave them to drip dry in the "dish washer" then I will put them away. I dry the pots and pans.

My husband thinks I'm strange. I hand wash my dishes, but let the diswasher drip them dry, lol. I'm thinking of taking the diswasher out all together and putting in something I will actually use.

I pretty much let everything drip dry too moondancer. I try to shove as much as possible into my dishwasher... I can't STAND hand-washing dishes either!

It used to be dishes because I really hated getting my hands wet (dry skin), but lately it's just anything that hurts my back. But I don't have to do most of those things, the household staff takes care of them for me. :-)

It seems a lot of people responding to this topic have one or several household chores that they hate mainly because it causes them back pain. My hands have been extremely dry lately too and getting them wet by washing dishes doesn't help. I've been trying sooo many different hand lotions lately, it isn't even funny! I've even tried putting lotion or vaseline all over my hands just before bed and then putting on little cotton gloves to sleep in. I couldn't stand it and tore them off in the middle of the night. It was very uncomfortable. I don't mind so much keeping socks on my feet at night but I couldn't stand the gloves! They almost drove me batty!

There aren't too many chores that I hate that much...thankfully. Most are just mindless exercises, so I usually just let my mind wander where ever it will while I'm doing them. At least it's a relatively quiet time...ever notice how the family can make itself scarce when it's time to do chores? If I had to pick what I hated to do the most...it would be sewing on buttons. Don't ask me why, and it's not a metter of not being handy with my hands. I do all kinds of crafts, needlework and sew many of my own clothes (I always use snap fasteners). But sewing on buttons? I've actually been known to throw something out instead.

You're sooo lucky catdla1! I wish I didn't mind doing household chores. I guess I get it from my mom who hates to clean house too. Don't get me wrong, she does keep a clean house but she doesn't LIKE to do it! ;)

LOL....I never said I keep an immaculate house. You will never see a picture of it in House and Gardens magazine. It looks comfortably lived in...and having 2 cats and 2 chihuahuas, there's plenty of dust and pet hair in to corners where no one sees it...lol. One thing I really like to do when I'm cleaning (especially if I can get the family out of the way), is to have pandora radio on (www.pandora.com). It's a free, non-commercial music genome station. You pick an artist, and it plays songs from that artist as well as other similar artists. While I'm cleaning, I hear songs that I haven't heard for years. In between dancing around the room, I manage to get the work (mostly) done too.

I hate ironing clothes because after that i usually get back aches. Folding clothes? That too seem to get so old and boring at times. I load my dishes in the dishwasher and it's a relief my husband takes that out from there. Oh well, it is his only so called chore at home. The rest of the home chores is accommodated by me because I am staying at home most of the time.

LoL... I REFUSE to iron unless absolutely necessary so I didn't even think of that one when I mentioned my most hated chore! I don't think I've ironed anything in about a year or more! My 14 year old son does empty the dishwasher for me though as one of his daily chores... thank goodness!

doing the dishes. nobody else in my family will get off their butt and do them, and they broke my dishwasher years ago. i seem to have a magic sink that refills itself, and nobody sees it happen. i guess it's the same leprechauns that eat all the food.

in my country we don't use clothes dryers. we hang our laundry out to dry and i just hate hate hate it when i have to take them down in the afternoon. ugggghh. i also don't like having to keep the plates and utensils after they have been used and washed. here, we often have large family gatherings and it is such a bother having to take out all the utensils and store them back again after a day's revelry. sigh

I don't fold. I throw the underclothes in a drawer and hang everything else up! The towels and stuff I don't mind. I live by myself so I have very little laundry. What I really dislike, though, is vacuuming because it hurts my back and dusting because it makes me sneeze. I just don't like housework!

Oh, you have made this difficult, since I can only choose one. I will say ditto on your post though. I enjoy grocery shopping, going down each aisle choosing items etc. but I hate lugging the groceries upstairs and putting them away. I live on the second floor, so after two or three trips to get the groceries upstairs, I am a little exhausted, and then I have to put them away. In the interim, my cats are looking at me with expectation that I have something for them.

LoL... I used to live in an apartment on the second floor too, but it was really more like the 3rd because we parked our car in the underground garage which added another flight of stairs. I hated bringing in the groceries then too. I tried to make sure my husband & teenage son were home whenever I came home from the store so that they could do most of the lugging of the bags, especially the heavy ones.

I hate doing the laundry. It takes too much time, and if I have stains to get out it really sucks.

I hate mopping the floors. I have to sweep them first and by then I'm out of the mood. I put off doing the floors as long as possible. I will spot clean the spills, so they don't look too bad.

Hi grammpaula - what kind of mop do you use? Right now I have a Libman mop which is pretty good. But, my absolute favorite mop is the Swiffer Wet Jet. I really need to buy another one of those. They are great and make the job soooo much easier to do!

I really hate anything laundry. I don't mind doing dishes, but I hate laundry! I'm not exactly sure why, but it just aggravates me! I think partly it's the mess. I have 7 brothers and sisters, so there is usually a big pile, and it can be really aggravating to sort it all out.

Hi Jill. I hate ironing because I never get finished! Because of the tons of work to do at home it always comes last to my list. So I do a bit of ironing before I go to bed and that is everyday. That's why I never get finished because I can't spend much time with it. I am thinking of getting a service person to do it for me just to get rid of the three baskets of washed clothes in my room. I hate seeing them unfinished!

The house hold chore that i hate most would be cleaning the cat litter box. I have 2 cats and that shore i simply cant stand. I would rather have them outside and it would be much less of a mess.
