Hello myLotter! There is some issue in some big cities especially in Asia. More and more modern market such as malls, walmart, and supermarket grow in the small cities. On the other hand, traditional market will be hard to win this challenge in terms of the competitive place, various product, and convenient place to shop. I do not think that in the future, I can do shopping with my child in traditional market. Sometime I love traditional market because I can bargain with the seller and have my favorite seller who give us extra discounts. I also like some traditional food that is very difficult to find on modern market such as "wajik", "gorengan", "jamu", ect. It is true that traditional market is not that convenient, it's hot and full of people. On the other hand, I prefer to go to walmart to buy a lot of groceries and month need because the price and the variety of brand easily can be found in it. I also feel tried if I must go one shop to another shop just to buy something. How about you? Do you think that there's no more traditional market in the future? Which one do you visit the most, traditional or modern market?

Walmart has certain things that are just cheaper because they buy in such quantity. However, there are certain things we will never buy at walmart even when they are cheaper. For example, the meats and breads. The stuff from walmart is cheaper but it goes bad so much more quickly then stuff from the regular markets. I am not sure if it is because the stuff is lesser quality or because they buy so much the stuff sits around longer and isn't as fresh as the others markets stuff. All I know is there are a lot of products that are cheaper at walmart but the quality is much worse than at other places.

I do not know that because sometime I just go there and find what I want :D. But it's not good if we get old stock or something like that.

For me I would always prefer walmart because it's a lot cleaner than the traditional market. But for my parents, they still go to traditional markets all the time to buy stuff instead of going to walmart. They think walmart is expensive!

I would highly recommend showing more support to the traditional markets than the walmart kind. Over here, I wish we had done the same. In my opinion its screwing us over. There are a lot of people who hate walmart deeply over here, because they have in the past made near fraudulent claims (Telling us the stuff in their store is American made when in fact their amount of American maid stuff would fit on one single shelf, and they would put up big banners saying "MADE IN AMERICA") Poor benefits/working conditions and very few of the people I see working at walmart are genuinely happy. Where you put your money now, is probably going to be the only place your children can put their money in 20 years. choose wisely, because your decision of where to even buy things affects not just you, not just your children, but eventually will reach the whole world. The butterfly effect is an amazing thing.

Walmart and supermarket have unique features that distinguisable from the traditonal market. They provide sort of self-service shopping. The price of the stuffs are displayed and they let the customers choose whatever the customers want. However, at some cases I prefer to go to traditional market. Things like fresh vegetables or fruits are better to be obtained in the traditional market in my view.
