Do you cook for yourself ? Do you know how to cook food? Do you cook well?

Hi, i am living alone, my bf and me are not live together, and usually when he doesn't come during the dinner time, I have to cook food for myself. I can not cook very well, uaually I just cook instant noodles together with some vegetable, and meat. And I find that most girls around me can not cook very well, their boyfriends cook more often than they are, and their boyfriends can cook better than they do! And so am I in the same situation. Is it become a trend that more and more boys are cooking better than girls?

I can cook for myself if I was hungry. Question is do I like to cook, which is no. Cooking is like a chore. I can cook certain things really good. Now my husband is the cook in the family. He cooks on his days off, when he works, we usually microwave left overs. My mom does the cooking, my dad only knows two things and honestly I don't know how we survived when my mom was sick. I think if a girl knows the basics of cooking, she's good to know. My mom always told me, if a man knows you really can cook. He will want you to do it every day for the rest of their lives.

well there are something in common between you and me. When I am happy and in a good mood to cook, I would cook, and I am not in the mood to cook, I would not cook ...or if I have to cook when I am not in good mood, I would feel bad...

haha, your dad teased you that you'd better married to a cook, now you already marry to a professional cook, that's interesting, You don't have to cook, your husband may be able to do that for you, which is good.

Thank you very much for sharing. When you live alone, cooking is very important, if you want to enjoy good food, you have to learn how to cook more dishes. Since you admire your friends who can cook well, why not learn from them, so that you can enjoy delicious food?

This situation can be a trend were your living as wel as the choice and role the female around you play. in Jamaica most female are taught how to cook as this is a tradition, whether they cook good or not very well. if you were living in Jamaica you would have lost your boyfriend long ago. lol. but cooking takeS practise, experiment love and passion. i live with my mom and she cooks most of the time i seldom cook but when i do its a hearty one or one the family have never tasted before. dont feel bad about your cooking but COOK UP ANY STORM AND IF IT FAIL TRY IT AGAIN THATS WHAT MAKES GOOD CHEFS! Good luck!!!!

Instant noodles, love them! They're ready in 2 minutes and they come with flavouring. I am married and I have a child so I have no option but cook although I hate it, I would rather wash dishes and clean the kitchen than cook, all that work just to eat! When I first left home all I would cook was omelettes because that is all I knew how to make. I am a little more knowledgeable but my husband still does a lot of barbecues!

Hi paula, some people think that cooking would make them happy and you are surely not among them, and it seems that both you and your husband are not very good at cooking... Now matter that, in my opinion, when you become very very good at cooking and every body make good comments on your cook, you may feel proud and change your attitude towards cooking... Good luck!

Hello my dear iamfine Ji, It is time, when table is turning upset down. In our country, while de-marking duties women were made responsible for duties inside the house and men were kept resreved for outside works and duties. So cooking became part and parcel of women's life. But as you describe, girls are getting un-aware about cooking is a un-natural. You mean, that your b/f does all work inside your house. How do you divide your jobs. Well, mu hubby knows cooking very well. I am suppposed to know. I think, you should buy a cookery book/attend some classes and get prepared to cook yourself. may god bless you nad have a great time.

Hi,thanks for your sharing. About my bf and me, we don't devide our jobs. We both have our own full-time jobs in the day time, and we don't live together, so he does not have to do housework in my house. It is just that when he come to my place, i would buy something fresh, but I don't know how to cook them. then he would responsible for cooking... It is a pity that if he ask me to cook for him, he can only have instant noodles and rice.

Cooking-puries - My hubby is busy in cooking
Hello my dear iamfine Ji, Well, I was talking about a system in my country, and nevr as an individual, There ia a very important job assigned by Almighty individually to keep our human-race keep going and we all do take equall part. I am not talking particular about you. We all have to follow certain basic concept. I thought, your b/f comes daily and shares with you and help you. Also, why not everyone takes interest and cooks. My hubby knew cooking very well much earlier. But I would only suggest, you may learn and I am sure you can do very fast. I am sure, the taste of food increases, once it is self cooked. There is absolutely no complain. may god bless you and have a great time.

I have ever heard a father force his children to study hard about knowledge from book, but I never heard a father force his child to study cooking. But no matter what, to learn how to cook is helpful, so you have to think too much about what to cook like me, who can not cook, and something that come up into my mind is always instance noodles and rice.

Dear Pinkista, Glad to know that you like to cook. Most of time i am in lazy situation, specially in dinner time, because dinner time comes after a long day's work. I feel tired and don't like to cook. This may be one of the reason why I can not cook good. Good day!

it is myself, my husband and my son in the family and i cook by myself. when i got married i wasnt knowing cooking but later i tried and learned cooking, before there was in-laws also who were with us but from the time i am in germany i need to cook for only three of us. initially it was very difficult for me to cook and morever i am not interested in cooking but later as the responsibilities increased i need to cook and there is no other way but i am happy that sometimes when he is free he helps me out in cooking and also other house work. now as i am cooking nearly from two to three years i have managed to be a little good cook and all my hubby likes it. yes what you told that the boys are better cook is right as in most of the things related to girls boys do it very well.

I can see that when we cook for love ones, we would take more attention on cooking, and try to improve it, because we want the love ones to love our recipe. And I agree with you that boys do cooking good too nowadays. They are independent, and far away from home, in order to live economically, they have to learn how to cook too.

well, i`m a boy, and i must admit that i cook good enough, because all my friends love what i`m cooking. Even when i went to see someone, they ask me to cook something to have for later. I live far from my parents and i cook for myself every day. It`s a pleasure when i have time, but when i don`t, i just fry some egs or some french fries and some winnies or i don`t know, something that i can make fast! But i love to cook, i must admit that. But i must admit that, i`ve learned from a proffesional cook when i was working...

I live alone too. I do cook for myself, but I can't say I know how to cook. I have made some recipes that I think turned out pretty good. I am not sure if anyone else would like them much. I think it would be nice if girls (or boys) still learned to cook from their mothers (or fathers), like they use to a long time ago. I think knowing how to cook is important. My mom can cook really good and when I was really young she would cook all the time, but eventually not so much. She got busy. I started finding easy recipies that I could do, so I could rely less on prepared foods. If it has too many ingredients or too many steps I usually avoid it. I prefer something that I can throw ingredients in and walk away till it is done, like a pressure cooker or slow cooker. I don't have many guy friends that can cook, but my friends husband can cook and she can't. Hmmm... where did all these guys learn to cook?

No, I don't think it's trendy, I just think it's getting mentioned more and more on the internet. Yes, I do cook for myself and have been for quite some time. It's cheaper, healthier, and it's fun to search for new recipes. If you're having trouble with recipes, then recipezaar.com has a slew of simple recipes you can use. I go by the highest rating and print out what sounds the yummiest.

Hello there, to answer your questions here are the answers that works for me. Yes, I can cook it may not taste like gourmet but definitely I can cook and my7 fiance likes my cooking. Though I don't cook for myself since I still lives with my parents and my moms does a lot of cooking. There are studies that says the men are better off as cooks than women since a lot of restaurants has male chefs but I don't have an exact site to give you for now to attest this study. But my dad is an exception for this since he doesn't cook and it is my mom who cooks a lot.

Try getting a simple cook book, even a used one from a used book store. Start very slowly and learn tow or three thing well, then invite him over and surprise him.

I don't know how to cook much, but I'm starting to learn cooking more. My exes--okay, I admit. They know how to cook better than I do. The only thing I know how to cook well is Carbonara, so it's pretty embarrassing. :))
