I have tried to quit smoking so many times and tried the gum and cold turkey. I smoked for 10 years and I finally quit thanks to this miracle pill, Wellbutrin. It really works for me. I quit almost a full week ago and I have no desire to smoke at all. I take 300 mg a day. it's also used as an antidepressant. I have started chewing gum whenever I get a craving. You may still get cravings but they aren't as severe as they would be doing it cold turkey. If you want to quit smoking you should try to get this. I went through a program at my doctor's office and got a 2 months supply for $10 and then free after that so be sure to ask about any prescriton programs.

Chantix helped me for awhile! - chantix
Good for you! I tried Wellbutrin years ago and it did nothing for me. I did try Chantix and it worked for 6 months but I'm back smoking again and hating it!

See I took it in highschool cause I got it as a sample. It didn't work for me at the time either. When I was prego I was taking Zyban which I guess is essentially the same thing and it worked for me. I did start up again as soon as I got home from the hospital though. That Chantix doesn't sit well with certain medications. Alot of people I know stopped it cause it interfered with their meds. Maybe give it another try.

I take a lot of psych meds and the Chantix didn't bother me at all. I guess I was lucky. I am going to see if I can try it again. I was so happy not smoking and even felt healthier after only a few months.

Thanks for this post. Last time I tried to quit smoking, I really, really got depressed. I felt like I was going through a bad break up or something. It was awful. Maybe I will be inspired to try again after seeing my doctor and asking for the prescription!

Oh yes you really should. I did have a fidgity feeling the first day I took it. I couldnt concentrate and i felt like my hands were shaking but I ate some food and it went away and I haven't felt it since then. The doctor can tell you about other possible side effects too.
