I have always wanted to try Linux but never seemed to alot the time to it. Apparently it is a bit geeky in that is not quite as user friendly as windows or mac. I belong to a board that has a few linux users and it seems to be well thought of once you get using it. There are some things to be said that most of the viruses are written for Windows os so there are almost none written for Linux because it does not have the user base. If everyone used Linux there would be way more viruses for Linux. I of course use windows XP. I have a bunch of old computer that I would like to put Linux on, but I guess like everything else it takes time to learn how to use it.

LINUX is a secure operating system but it is not user friendly we have learn how to use linux we just can't install and start using like windows. I accept virus attack is very less in linux. But it is not user friendly so we can not use in our daily life unless we are doing some research work.

I would give Windows an edge over Linux or any other OS. Reasons being, Windows is more user friendly. Windows is more prone to virus attack because it is largely used. If Linux was also used my as many people then viruses would have attacked it as well. Linux has only one advantage over windows and that is Open source. Its Free.
