Sometimes things get mixed up when discribing GOD, JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.Are they thesame thing? I was suprised to realize that as porpular as trinity believe is in the christiandom today, It does not appaer in any bible verse. What i wonder is if they are three in one like the claim, why should jesus say "the LORD your God is one GOD"? The bible tells us that God can not be tempted of evil neither does he tempt any..But jesus was tempted. Could anyone kindly explain better

God didn't tempt Jesus, Satan did and didn't get anywhere. God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Jesus. There is also a forth in all this. That is the Holy Spirit of God. God through His holy Spirit can help is to get to a point where He can Anoint us with the Holy Spirit of Jesus. The 10th chapter of Acts shows both the Holy Spirit of God and Jesus at work with Cornelius and Peter. God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit are three different beings. Jesus spoke of His Father in Heaven. Also God spoke to the people that were observing Jesus the day He was baptized. "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased". I assure you it was not God talking to himself. Art

i didnot say God tempted jesus either. I only said he was tempted. But the bile says God can not be tempted but jesus was. The holy spirit is NOT the spirit of Jesus.IT IS FROM GOD. Jesus never called God 'GOD THE FATHER' it is iether 'FATHER' or 'GOD'. Honestly i am hearing about this 'HOLS SPIRIT OF JESUS FOR THE FIRST TIME' Maye you should help send me a verse where 'the holy spirit of jesus' was mentioned in the bible. So if they are three different beings like you rigthly said, where did christian today get the trinity from?

The Holy Trinity is nowhere to be found in the bible. It is based on doctrine by the Roman Catholic Church. Holy Trinity symbolize the three personalities and "job/function" of the Lord. The Father reflects the God that created the earth, created human and animals and such.. The son is the same GOD in a different form, which is as a human who came down to earth to sacrifice Himself. After Jesus return to Heaven, He sent Himself in the form of a Holy Spirit whose function is to teach us about the Lord, to remind us of His teaching, to correct our mistake and remind us when we are about to make mistake, to help us share His word and His glory to the people around us and such. And .. Jesus WAS NEVER TEMPTED by Evil! There are no passage or whatsoever in the bible that ever said this. If you could provide me with the passage from the bible in which you think Jesus was tempted? It might be the case that you misunderstood it... and I might (or may not) be able to explain it to you :)

Hello. 1st Timothy, chapter three, verse sixteen says this: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. This sums up your question - great is the mystery of godliness. God was made manifest in the flesh (meaning he came as Jesus Christ - a man, the son of God), justified in the spirit (The Holy Spirit), Seen of Angels (God the Father).... so here it is - God is all three manifestations in one perfect and Holy God. Just as you can have many titles and be many different things - example I'm a mother, a daughter, an auntie, a sister.... these are different manifestations of myself - one person.

^_^ Howdy!.... jashley1 and willofGod!.... What jashley1 is trying to analogize is that in one person or one being there can be different roles of a person. In one single person or being can have different roles that can symbolizes different characters, personalities or manifestations. Like in a single female person that she can be a mother, a daughter, a lawyer, a teacher or an executive and so on. And she is only in one single female person consisting of different roles and each of of these different roles has different responsibilities or how she handles or controls all of it. As I mention earlier above of this discussion, that the Trinity of God are God's different role, characters, or personalities. Or Almighty God's three main job descriptions. And that is to create, love and to tell the truth. And because Almighty God mysterious divinations and has the power of the most pure and highest wisdom, God can manifest these roles into an embodiments of beings. And these are the three beings God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. And we as human the God's creations we are also the manifestations and embodiments of God. And we are all God's sons and daughters. And we are the truth of God presence. God is like the ocean and we are part droplets of waters. Whenever the water goes, on a river or in a lake it always goes back into the ocean no matter what happen. ^_^ God Bless Us!.... Peace!.... Thanks!.... and Enjoy!.... myLot!....

Talking of God's manifestation: Manifest means to be made known in english-except if you want to give it a meaning of your own. For example:1corintian3:13 "Every man's work shall be made MANIFEST. 1CORINTIANS4:5.......and will make manifest the council of the heart:...."1cor15:27 "and thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest"...So manifest in 1tim3:16 means made known. It does not signifies any equallity.. Made manifest in the flesh means 'made known in the flesh' not 'became flesh' like you said. Maybe you should try and read 1corintians15:23-28. i'll just mention verse24 "then comes the end when he(jesus) shall have delievered up the kingdom to God, even the father;...." and the verse 28 "and when everything shall be subdued unto him (i.e jesus) then shall the son himself be subject unto Him that put all things under him. That God be all in all" So on the long run Jesus will be subjected to God, after God must have put all his enemies under his feet. That shows they are not thesame don't it? You are a mother a daughter....: That is true. But you still have thesame characteristics. If you are white in completion to your mom u can't be dark in completion to ur children. If you tell ur mum you can swim, u should tell your children you can't if you do, that makes you a lier.... But we know God does not lie. The bible tells us that God is thesame yesterday, today and forever. So if God says he knows everything in the old testament he should come and tell us he does not know when he will come back in the new testament.. But jesus said he does not know when he is coming back. God said no body tells Him what to do. He told us that He does whatever He wants to do.. But jesus said he only does the will of his Father who is in heaven. So you see? those characteristics does not tally on like your own case of being a mother, a daughter...Except if u want to tell me that God is a lier.. WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE

Roles may differ, manifestations may differ but characteristics remain thesame. God is thesame, today, tommorow, and forever more says the bible... In the case of jesus and God there caracteristics differ so is there role..

from my understanding he is both one and 3 in one he is one entity that plays 3 major roles think about ice/water it takes on 3 forms liguid form it is water solid form it is ice when it evaporates it is gas 3 different forms same chemical make up Or think about this I am one person but I play many roles in life to different people I am a daughter, a sister, a mother, a freind, etc I am all of those things but I am still just one person

either u are a daughter or a mother or a grand child, ur age, ur gender, ur abilities and ur weaknesses remain thesame. For example In the place u are know to be a child if ur skin color is white, u can't have a gray color in the place where you are known as a mother. Where u are know to be a mothet, if it is known that you know everything, then u can't say there are things u don't know when you get to those that see you as a child. If God told us there is nothing He does not know. Then that should be constact -m because God those not change. But jesus said he does not know when he is coming back. That shows he does not know all. But God is all knowing. God told us that He does whatever HE wills whenever He wills. But Jesus said he does nothin of his own will but of HIM who as sent him. Those characteristics are not in harmony compared with yours.

^_^ Howdy!.... willofGod!.... Yeah! They are symbolizing of the three personality or persons in one being of the Almighty God. like a three-in-one coffee mix. Coffee, sugar and cream. And still it always called a coffee and not a tea or milk. God the Father as creator, parent and provider. God the Son as symbolizes the Love of God. Jesus Christ as God the Son, He is from the WORD of God that became flesh because of the Love of God. God the Holy Spirit, the spirit of truthfulness of the Almighty God. Genesis 1:26.... (New American Standard Bible©1995) Then God said, "Let US make man in OUR image, according to OUR likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." John 14:17-29.... .... .... .... John 15:26-27.... 26 “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, 27 and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning. John 17:1-5.... .... .... .... For the best reading just read the whole of John Chapter 14. Chapter 15. Chapter 17. On what verse in the Bible you have said -- jesus say "the LORD your God is one GOD"? And Jesus tempted for what? ^_^ God bless us all!.... Peace!.... Thanks!.... and Enjoy!.... myLot!....

All this bible verses will be from KJV2000. isaiah42:1"BEHOLD my servant, whom i uphold, my elect in whom my soul deligths. I have put my spirit upon him, he shall bring forth justice to te gentiles"...Who was talking about who? Isaiah42:8"I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory I will not give to another, neither my praise to graven image". jesus himself resited this verse to the jews in mattew12:18 peters confession of jesus was that"you are the christ, the son of the living God.(matthew16:16). Jesus never called himself God the son neither did any of his disciples. It is either THE SON OF MAN, or THE SON OF GOD. "LET US" could mean anyother thing rememer that the angels were there when men were created.ishaiah44:6"i am the fisrt and the last; beside me there is no one".WHY should you now tell me that jesus was BESIDE God that was why God said "let us". i Don't buy that. also remember that humans are also like angels in "likeness". That place the not say from THE Father, it says from MY Father. They are two different things. MARK12:29"Hear o isreal , the lord our God is one God" The devil tempted jesus three times remember?

When Jesus said that He is not doing doing it on His own will but on God's will, it means obeying God's will. not just for purpose why God sent Jesus to Earth but He (Jesus) demonstrates how to obey the will of God for us.

There is a clear cut between "won't give in" and "can't be tempted" Every christian will be tempted but those that did not give in will be crowned. Those that make those that did not give in God? The bible says God can not be tempted atall it does not say God will not give in. Except for nowadays bible which thyere are diferrent translations the bible those not contain the word trinity any where. But maybe if you happen to get the place i'll be glad to have it..Thanks

Re the Holy Trinity - God reveals himself through Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit. I guess you can say it's God in three and why you can say they are one and the same. Does that make sense? Through Jesus Christ, we experience God's love and will. Through the Holy Spirit God is present in the Christian church and in the individual Christian. The Holy Spirit guides and directs us. Sadly, we often ignore that guidance. Re temptation; I think when it says God can't be tempted, it means there's is no temptation anyone can put before Him that He will give in to, nor will He ever tempt us with evil. Any temptation of evil is directly from the devil, not God.

WillofGod, Very good points indeed. For anyone to believe and say that Jesus and God are one and the same is calling Jesus a lier. The Bible says Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus himself called God his Father. In the sample prayer Jesus gave He prayed to God. "Our Father who art in Heaven". Too many people spend way too much time searching for hidden meaning in the Bible. All they are doing is deceiving themselves. All we need to do is read the Bible and believe what it says and then depend on God to help us understand the things we don't. Art

Some times i wonder why people twist Jesus' word that much. Jesus said he has done nothin of his own except what he was sent to do. He said the lord your God is one God. Yet people says He is part of God. May God keep you in HIS light. Thanks

When I say that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit can be said to be one and the same, I mean in so far as it is God working through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. That was/is God working through them. Jesus came to earth to reveal God by working God's will and to die for our sins. The Holy Spirit in us reveals God's will to us. We just have to listen. So, I think you can even say that God is in all of us.
