i love real flowers but they are so time consuming, like i have to change it every alternate day or they start wilting and that is not a pretty sight.so,i do prefer artificial ones as need not to be tended and also they are pleasing to the eyes and for the smell,i do use a room freshner as and when neceesary.what are your views???

Artificial flowers are no match for real flowers. Real flowers when lying in your room in a bouquet or in a flowers pot make you feel refreshed and just viewing them gives you awesome feeling. If you happen to observe a fully bloomed roses, you will just keep watching the roses endlessly because it looks so enchanting and its smell is just enthralling. Given the choice, I would prefer to keep fresh flowers in my room from my small so call terrace garden, instead of artificial flowers.

Hi! Riya! 'Artificial' things cannot substitute 'real' things. Real is real.

There is nothing like natural flowers for me. So although there are beautiful artificial flowers, I think natural flowers are always my choice. This is the reason why I planted lots of flowering plants in my garden.

Roses do not last long in my garden. I always buy potted ones because I love the flowers but after some months they die. Maybe because they like cooler places.

I definitely prefer fresh flowers, but as you have shared, they can take quite a bit of effort to maintain and also have to be replaced regularly. This is all fair and well if you are lucky enough to have a flower garden, but if you don't, it can become quite expensive to constantly replace floweres too! Then of course we are influenced by seasonal availability as well. Artificial flowers may not have the scent etc of the real ones, but at least they are able to make them look very real these days! Artiificial with an occasional burst of the real thing sounds like a pretty good combination to me!

Flowers are life line - I have my own garden, it is not kitchen garden
Hello my friend riyasam Ji, I love both, I have my own garden with 30X10 feet span, where I plant flowers of my seasonal varieties and for inside, artificial, except for money-plants in bottle. To coll my eyes, I come out of my room in varandah, and else, some flowers remain in front of my all the time. may God bless you and have great time.

I love real flowers, but to me they are not practical, unless you grown them in your yard. I love to cut the roses off of the old rose bush when they are blossoming in the summer, and the mock orange tree buds, when they are in bloom. They smell so good. Also the lilacs in spring when they are open. They make the house smell so good. There are so many real live looking artifical plants that they can fool someone. They think they are real. I don't use the air freshners, because some of them are so fake. Just let a little vanilla out to add a wonderful smell, or cook some cinnamon and water on the stove for a wonderful smell. I like to dry my roses and mock orange bush buds, which smell wonderful. I will have to try and dry lilacs this year and see if they hold their scent.

I use to use cinnamon as an breath freshener too. Baking an apple pie or anything with cinnamon in it will give the house a wonderful smell. And it is all natural too.

I love and used to wonder at some artificial flowers. But I prefer the real ones any time.I don't mind changing the flowers in my vase everyday.I just love flowers. I have uploaded some of the snaps of the flowers I have taken at the hill I used to visit every summer.

Hi!I love real flowers. I just cannot keep these artificial flowers or plants at home. For me I have a beautiful garden. But there are seasons when there are absolutely no flowers at all. There is just greenery all around. When there are plenty of flowers I do make a fresh arrangement everyday. If there is not much to pluck I prefer to see the flowers on the plants rather than keep them in the vase.As the flowers dry, some varieties only, I take them and dry them in the shade. I always have dry flowers around. They look very good, the color is retained only the fragrance is not there.I prefer to have these than artificial ones.

Only recently I came across some amazing real like flowers, No way you can differentiate fro distance! I love fresh flowers! They are lovely in their freshness and innocence. But its indeed time consuming and an expensive hobby. These days, I go for orchid like plants with violetas. This stays fresh for long and looks beautiful and different!

Hi Riya, I think both are good, but one can giving enjoyment only on eyes and the other can give a refreshment to us. The aroma of real flowers is great especially the Rose and Jasmine. I loved gardening when I was a kid and have lots of collections of good plants including Rose, Jasmine etc. But after relocated to Delhi I can depend the artificial flowers for decorating the room and there is no other choice.

I keep real flowers in my house. I do not like to keep the artificial ones. My daughter tends to the flowers and changes them regularly. And since the flower market is near my office I get to buy all varities here. Some flowers do not need to be changed everyday so I buy the flowers two to three times a week.

I am not a big fan of the artificial flowers, riyasam. I love the real ones. They just have a way of lighting/lifting up the life of the room where it's at. Now getting them to last longer is another story.

I would prefer real flowers any day. I am not the sort of person who decorates his vase with flowers and all so whenever I am in any need of flowers, I always go for real flowers. For those who use flowers to decorate the house, I think real flowers may be the first choice but you have to replace them every day and put new ones in. This will wear you down and ultimately I think you will switch on to artificial flowers.

Well, I also love real flowers but it is so expensive to keep on buying flowers every time we use it. I go for artificial flowers that looks like real. You can find many different kinds of artificial flowers that looks like real one. for one thing I like artificial because you don't need to keep on changing the water I mean no tender care needed. LOL.. not time consuming.. Just buy different colors and kinds so that you can change it every now and then..

yeah, thats another reason,i dont have to change the water......my kids keep on spilling the water accidentally that it becomes another chore to wipe the spilled water.

I really like real flowers as they have real smelland they looks very natural and I like to have them as much as I could. Howevr, like you said they don't last longer and you gonna keep on changing them unlike the artificial one. If it's possible for me to have them (and of course their availability) I'd like to have them in the living room and in the dining table.

I like real flowers but like you say they wilt and die and then you just throw them away. I have 2 plants that I had for years all the rest are fake. So much easier.

I prefer real flowers to artificial because of the beautiful fragrance they have. Yes, artificial ones last forever, and the only care they need is an occassional dusting, but if I am going ot have flowers around me, I want to enjoy their fragrance.
