I am after good and bad neighbour stories today. There are the oddballs like the woman who used to garden in the nude or the man who used to breed trout in the strata's swimming pool. I have even heard of a guy who was asked not to urinate in the toilet bowl because he got up so often during the night that the noise kept the neighbours next door awake. What are you neigbours like? Do you have a story?

I have a neighbor and his wife that I met when I broke my leg, and she also just had bunyon surgery. We spent hours on the phone each day keeping each other company. Well to find out the were the same religion as we were, plus they were Born Again Christians. Well anyways when ever they would come by, her husband would talk religion and all the stuff he did with the those that were Born again. Don't know if I was just bored at the time or what, but it all sounded interesting. So when I was on the mend, the Mrs. and I would go for walks, we both needed to. We would talk, and then her husband started joining our walks, and talking religion, you think he would talk about something else. Well they sang with this group, and asked me to go along. I went several times, until one day, on our way home from the Mental Health Care Center, and I said to him, that the people really enjoyed the singing, and talking with the group. He said to me Well they better have, it was FREE. Now this guy should talk about free things. When they say that God Helps Him Who Helps Himself, well this guy sure does, if he knows you have something and he wants it, he will talk you into giving it to him FREE. A real jerk, and only knows you when he wants or needs something. On the way home that day after the comment, I asked the two of them what a Born Again Christian is. Neither one could give me an answer. Well needless to say that was the end of going anywhere with them. I thought that that is what they talk about all the time, and read the bible, etc, and they could not even answer the question. I figured if they don't know, then I am not interested in what they believe. Great topic.

It is all too easy to "speak the talk" but not "walk the walk" if you know what I mean. It sounds great to say you are a Born Again Christian but you should live your life accordingly, actions speak a lot louder than words! Good riddens to them, they sound like hypocrites! Thanks for the great response!

You are very welcome Paula. I agree with you about Walk the Walk, and Talk the Talk, and until the question was asked, it all sounded to good to be true, until they couldn't give me an answer, then I figured, they must be confused or don't know what they are talking about.

I have some decent neighbours. Ours is an old locality and we share stories since 2-3 generations. Its like a big family with good friends, aunts, uncles, grand aunts and uncles and some poking yet harmless folks. Even though I do not mix much my mom has a great reputation among them. She is caring and dependable. Non wonder everyone comes to her for advise. she goes overboard to help others. Sometimes I feel its like meddling with other people's lives. But then, she love helping others and she does it empathetically. I keep mum.

Hi Paula, I am blessed with very good neighbours where I live now but where I lived before there was this woman who lived in the same blocks of flats as myself and she attracted trouble and troublesome boyfriends and one night we were even evacuted out of the building by police as one of her fellas was armed and on the roof, he caused over £20,0000 worth of damage by throwing tiles down onto the police cars and cars parked below also. Her boys were a nightmare too and used to throw paint over peoples cars and generally cause havoc in the area and I would get knocks on the door every hour or so cos mum wanted to borrow something (never got back) so I would say no in the end. Glad I don't live there anymore. Huggles. Ellie :D

I'm glad too that you don't live there anymore! I had neighbours who used to play loud music all night long during the week and were very troublesome, although not quite as bad as yours. It can really ruin the quality of your life! Thanks for responding!
