Have you ever dreamt that you could fly?

When I was a child, I used to dream so often of flying, that I really thought I could. I decided to put it to the test. Luckily, I was a very sensible little girl, so instead of flying out of the window, I tried from the low branch of a tree, and funnily enough found out that I couldn't fly! Did you ever dream you could fly, or like me, did you really think that you could?

Yes I often fly over the treetops, and sometimes much higher. Its like riding in a car, when you go over a sharp hill in the country. Your stomach kinda gets a light feeling. This is how it is, and its always a fun thing to do. I can do it in my dream by standing there and precipitating this same light feeling in my stomach.

There are no wings, and I am in my body. Its a delightful feeling like being weightless. I am moving past treetops and new scenery is coming into view. I never go to any recognizable place. Its just flying for the sake of flying.

Does it feel like you are actually flying, flapping your arms etc., or is it more just like you've left your body behind? Either way, you are very lucky.

There are several times in my childhood taht I dreamt that I can fly with a pair wing .A kind of different feeling in my childhood ,but a dream is only a dream ,after that dream I have to come to the reality ,face the truth ..hehe so after that day I made up my mind that "I have to earn enough money to make myself a real wing which can really fly"..hehe

It wouldn't be the same as flying naturally though.

I occasionally still dream that I can fly. Those dreams feel more real than any of my other dreams...that I often wake up and check my back -- just in case, 'cause I feel like I can still feel the wings there! I always dreamed about having actual wings...not flying just as myself. When I was little I used to make "wings" out of old carboard boxes and runs down steep hills, hoping that since I was still small I might have enough left to get up off the ground for more than a few seconds. xD It never worked, but it was great fun at the time.

I can picture that! It's just as well that it doesn't work though, we'd never know where are children were!

haha i did something simillar to that. when i was about four years old i was ome with one of my older brothers, who was about 16 at the time while my parents went grocery shopping. he went into his room and didn't want to take care of me so he went into his room. well it was winter time and there was alot of snow outside taht i wanted to play in. i opened the window and jumped out, luckilly my other brother robert saw me on his way home, and caught me!! he was about 10 or 11. lol my other brother got hell when my mom got home, cause she got home when my brother caught me, and she was wondering why i was outside with a tank top and shorts lol.

I suprised that doesn't happen more often, because I think maybe a lot of children just assume they can fly!

I have had two dreams about flying etc. 1. I often don't remmeber dreams but I have this one in my head, I am walking along and I suddenly take larger steps and begin to get higher and higher off the ground. I find myself looking down on the road below me, I can move myself along by putting my arms down to my sides like a wave motion. I then slowly decend to the ground and can leap high from a single step. I love this dream because I feel so powerful and free. 2. In this one I often only remember the falling part and landing upon the ground, waking suddenly on my bed. It's normally falling from a high rise building and landing on pavement. This one I don't like as it confuses me for a few moments when I wake on the bed.

That's horrible - the falling dream I mean. I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if you were landing on something soft, but a pavement, yuk!

When i was young i used to have dreams about flying all the time. I would simply go to sleep and then i would be soaring above the clouds. When i was having a nightmare i would begin falling from the sky and would wake up right as i hit the ground. Often times i fell out of my bed. I used to wonder if i could only fly in my sleep or if i was capable of flying when i was awake without knowing it. I finally concluded one day after a failed experiment one day that i could not fly but maybe i could do it when i came "of Age" like when i was thirteen or something. Its really quite embarrassing as i look back, lol.

Isn't it sad when you discover you can't really fly? I was so sad when I discovered that, especially as I'd told people I could!

I was a bit worried about starting this discussion, in case people thought I was weird - so it's nice to know I'm not alone! The dreams stopped after I proved to myself that I couldn't really fly.

I haven't dreamed about flying since I was about 5 years old. I used to dream that if I bounced hard enough and long enough I would take off flying. and in my dream i would do just that. i would bounce and bounce until I almost reach the ceiling then I would take off flying. I don't remember where I flew to just remember the dream.

Yup, when I was 9 or 10 years old, I used to dream that I could fly. Launching myself off from the rooftops and flying to catch the bad guys (watching too many cartoons!), And also crawling through tunnels that interconnect the houses!

When I was little I had dreams of flying... I also had dreams that I could turn into a dragon and fly like that... and funnily enough I didn't feel any different as a dragon than as I normally did, except that I'd wake up with my arms all tired from all the flapping... Haha, I grew out of it somewhere around third grade, but I"m surprised it lasted even that long.

How did you know you were a dragon? Were you breathing fire?

Yes, i dreamed of flying a few times. It was years ago i think. It was like i was flying so low like 5 feet then it developed so i can fly just above the roof of our house. It was so realistic that i thought i wasn't dreaming! I really didn't travel far by flying because i was busy exploring my capability to fly. I was also cautious hoping that nobody has seen me fly.

I did and I still do from time to time. I heard about experiences called "out of body" or OBE.The you-tube is full of short videos with people that experienced them. Lots of books were written about this subject too. They say that you can also train to leave your body whenever you want and go visit someone. If you're given certain coordinates, you can even go back in time and check out things that happend and how they happened. People went back or forward in time and place and brought information that when checked, was 100% accurate. Incredible what the mind can do with the proper training. Too bad, I'm not one of them.I would like to go and visit my friens, surprise them by telling them what they did and when...fun.

I have never, in my life, had a dream where I could fly. Actually, i very rarely have and kind of dreams where any type of travel in involved. You being able to fly in your dreams, is generally a positive thing. I think it means basically, you are secure with yourself and you have a good imagination.

I use to dream alot about flying, and still do, but I would never jump off of something to see if I could really fly. You can do that from the ground. Jump up...do you float? No? you can't fly. lol.
