I was doing very well until I bought 3 big bags chips and big packets of chocolate. But I cannot throw them away now. How do you try not to eat too much?

I bought a balance so I weigh myself everyday after a shower ,which can warn me not to eat too much .If I want to lose weight ,I will write a note near my mirror .The note says how much weight i must get rid of .what 's more ,I will buy a pants slimer than I can wear now ,which pushes me to keep my plan on .If I am thirsty to eat ,I will eat the fruits instead and drink the low sugar no fat milk instead .hope to be helpful to you .Be happy and healthy ,mylottings !

Very carefully! LOL. But really, what I try to do, is get those little ziplock bags, and divide everything up so that you're only going to see one serving at a time, and then it's slightly easier to stop. But that's not always the case. I would always just promise myself that I would only eat 1-2 bags, and then stop. Also, for next time when you go to the store, get the 100 calorie packs. They are already divided up, and there are some really good flavors in chocolate, and chips. So you can have your sweets, or salt.

It's very difficult, my dear. I can't even keep them out of sight, knowing that they are still in the house within reach. So I can either finish all, or give them away to my friends or neighbors! So once it's gone - the temptation is reduced - going out again to buy is too much of a hassle!

Who wants to avoid eating junk food anyways!!...just kiddin..stay out of the junk food aisle.. I find substitutes for the junk food..like a bowl of grapes, jello with low calorie whipped cream...chunks of cheese and raisins. Celery with cheese and yummy dip!! Ok, a few crispy minis..they arent that bad!! You do need to find something crunchy to compensate for the chips though..maybe popcorn, without tons of butter and salt.. I also buy individual containers of fruit salad, puddings and yogurt...If you need a sweet treat, yogurt is yummy with liquid honey on top!

Purchase snack size bags and put the serving size into each bag. This way you can grab just one snack pack and know your limit. It's tough to develop will power but it can be done. You can also try drinking a glass of water each time you think you are hungry. If you are still hungry, eat something-your snack, if not after the water move on with your day. Anora

I try to drink a glass of tea/water when I crave for snacks, sometimes it helps, sometimes I will go right back to the chips later on. Thanks for your response! :-)

It seems silly, but if you aren't going to throw them away and you don't want to eat them - well hide them. Put them somewhere that you may not think to look at all the time. That way they aren't sitting on your counter in the kitchen tempting you to eat them... Biggest thing I found was to find recipes that I could make that was good for me that were also tasty. Yeah they tell you fruits but sometimes you want something with chocolate. I always found one recipe that I found in a weight loss book to not be bad. It's ricotta cheese, cocoa powder and a package of sweet n'low. Sounds disgusting but helps you get by with those cravings for something sweet with chocolate. You also can portion out the items you currently have. Get some small snack bags and put in 3-4 cookies rather than sitting with the bag of 25. That way you eat what you have and aren't tempted to eat one more cookie. =] Goodluck!

yeah, get smaller pack is better, when it's finished, then I won't be able to get more unless I need to drive at least 15 mins to the store. Thanks for your response! :-)

Oh I know it is so hard, I think one good idea is to put them out os sight can help a little, out of sight out of mind works sometimes, I have the same problem, I buy things for when I have visitors and then eat everything before they come...

When I was living by myself, I simply avoided buying junk food and fatty foods like cheeses and such. When my boyfriend moved in with me, he often buys such products even though I have asked him not to. I am fine if they are not in the house, but when they are there it presents such a temptation I'd rather not have. I usually do avoid the foods, but I would rather them not even be in the house, especially since I would love to lose a few pounds!

You lift your shirt, look at yourself in the mirror and say, I'm getting rid of that belly. At least that's what I tell myself. I've been avoiding chips for so long that I can't even finish a bag of it now - it just feels so wrong, so oily, so unhealthful. Don't throw them away! Give them away:D Bring them to school or to work - then share it. If you still want a taste, at least you'd be eating less if someone's there to eat it for you. Make sure you share it with someone who actually eats junkfood though, don't give it to someone on a diet or he/she might have better self-control than you and you'd end up eating three whole bags!:P Good luck!

I don't really eat any junk foods per say. I'm not a law firm chips I'm a fanatic for chocolate but i don't buy it. Instead of eating chips I've always had popcorn and give me a box a cherry chocolates and all eat the whole box. I'm a sucker for swiss chalet. The only chips that I ever really like it was cool range Doritos any can get them here anymore!

I usually avoid the store. I make sure to stock up for groceries so I can avoid going frequently and if I really crave a junk food when I see some there I only buy ONE. Good luck!

At first, I told myself the junk food is bad to my body, so I keep away from them. Later, when I'm used to eat natural food, I find they are more delicious than junk food.
